A few days back there was talk about whether Miss Universe's fainting spell after her coronation wasn't due to a lack of food. Apparently, that speculation isn't that far off the mark, as a model in Uruguay has apparently died on the catwalk after having starved herself for several days:

 

A young Uruguayan model died of heart failure while participating in a fashion show during Fashion Week in Montevideo (Uruguay), according to officials at the hotel where the show was held.

 

22 year-old Luisel Ramos felt ill after walking the catwalk, fainted on her way to the dressing room and died in spite of the medical attention she received from a mobile hospital unit, sources told EFE.

The doctors who treated her diagnosed her with heart failure.

 

The young woman's father told police that the model had gone several days without eating.

 

In Uruguay's close neighbor, Argentina, more and more women are struggling with body obsession. The United States leads the world in deaths caused by eating disorders, followed by Japan and Germany.

In my opinion it's definitely not attractive.

 

And I think most of the boys think so, too....

i cannot believe it! how on earth is stupid enough to starve themselves to death and then enter a bloody contest?

I don't think overly-skinny girls are attractive, there's a limit.

poor girl. i hope some legal action is taken over this and it is made public to warn everyone that eating disorders really are terrible for you.

I can't think of any man who likes a really skinny wife.

whow ... i was really shocked when i read the title of this thread but actually it has to happen sometimes ... they're not human anymore .. th'yre getting skinnier and skinnier and grosser and grosser

I dont know about you guys but really skinny girls dont work for me, i love curves so yeah :P

being to skinny is nasty...unless its on girls like misha barton... but for the most part its not attractive.

i`m naturally skinny (but not too skinny) cuz i was born underweight and stayed that way all my life. it goes both ways: you might feel unattractive when you`re overweight as well as when you`re underweight. i learnt to love myself the way i am and when i finally did, i found the love of my life who loves me the way i am (with small tits and stuff :D)

I hope this teaches all those young models out there a lesson. I'm sure their was more wrong with her though than just starvation though.

I actually don't get it ... everybody keeps saying that the models are too skinny to be good looking but still those girls are losing weight till they're only skin over bones ....
