Well' date=' it's all bogus anyway. Read back through the pages.[/quote']

Yeah. I finally fell asleep at 8 this morning and hadn't heard the news since then. What a cruel thing to do...but of course, I'm not surprised.

Tracie: you have my prayers.... and might I add super jealous that you're going to Manchester!!!! I wanna go so bad!!! However... I tend to agree with your opinion.. I don't put it past the govt to kill its own.. 9/11 just proves that point.. well at least it opens speculation to do so.. my comment was more of a poke at the movie.. (V for Vandetta) because all this talk reminded me of the movie.. :embarassed:

Gareth: if we were to take every threat as bogus... then we let the terrorists win.. if we do take every threat seriously.. we let them win.. its all so fuckin' frustrating!! --This is why I can't tell the truth anymore.... makes me not even want to watch the news or read a paper.. but then again, I have to. I have to stay informed.. because I should know what my govt is up to.. and how they plan to protect.. (if at that) in any form its just to stay informed I suppose... *shrugs* I just don't know anymore... :(

My problem as well. I want to stay informed, but I can't stand it sometimes...and how can you know who to believe?

I know, I know....I have to watch/read to the news as it truely is an 'infowar'.

Some people I know don't even have a clue what's going on at all. I mention things about the middle-east mess and they say "to be honest, I don't know what's happened"........it's tough to stay calm when I hear that because we are at a very important, pivotal stage of human existance.

I have a few friends who say they don't bother with the news...not because it scares or overwhelms them, just because it's a downer...they'd rather watch re-runs of 'Friends'. I get so angry at that mentallity. I guess it's their business, not mine, but it sounds so redneck to me.

It is hard to know who to believe or what to believe, but I guess you'll know when you see it with your own two eyes right?

I have to say that it does scares me sometimes too but the more I watch and read the news the more I feel the clock tickling. There's always a lie in every truth...

You know what the worse is.. is that I have this friend who didn't even know there was a war going on at the middle east. She actually said that she doesn't watch tv or read the news.

I remember a friend of mine a few years ago walking into a bar where I was playing and not having any clue about the day's news...the date was Sept. 11th, 2001.

Oh wow, are you serious?:shocked2: I find that a bit too extreme, no one ever mentioned it to them during the whole day?:stunned:

crikey! how could you not hear about that? We heard about 2pm GMT, from customers coming into the store, and then someone was glued to the radio all afternoon.

A colleague of mine was flying to Xanti this morning from Manchester. Probably a delay before arriving though. Charter flights were hardly affected.

My friend had slept alot of the day and didn't turn on the tv or radio when he got up. I don't think he was intentionally ignorant of the news...it was a weird way for someone to find out...he really freaked...burst into tears right at the bar.

I could see the plumes of smoke from my office window... my cousin worked 3 blocks away off wall St... and I was on the phone with her when the Pentagon was hit... my best friend was also trapped on Manhattan with no way off the island... they both walked home. (seperately of course) My cousin lived in Brooklyn.. my BF in Queens... both long walks..

I then ventured out into Queens to look for my BF.. that was insane!!! --I will never forget the image of those buildings burning.. :( and then to see them fall... I loved those Towers.. they were part of the skyline that allowed me to fall back in love with NYC and move back.. :(

sad.. ok sorry.. I rambled... back to topic.... :embarassed:

But there's nothing to be scared of. Air travel has become safer and safer every year. Here check out this site with the details http://www.planecrashinfo.com/cause.htm

You're about twice as likely to survive a plane crash now than you were in the 1930s and since 2001 there haven't been any hijackings. No bombings in western hemisphere airlines since 1997
