Ahh the fine art of procrastination!! I'm sorta fit. I play basketball each week and do a lot of running and sports at school. Sometimes I do situps and pushups but I also eat a lot of junkfood so I guess it evens out.

ye... a good diet is underated in keeping you healthy and fit....

I just bought myself a chocolate bar and a magazine :) mmmmmm... I don't do that very often, now I just HAD to! (you now what it's like, don't you?)

And then I'll go jogging :D

woww... a healthy thread

i dont do exercise actually

i do want to be fit

but i dont know why...exercise is just not for me

i always tell myself tomorrow i'll exercise

and you know ....tomorrow never come

Uh, I exersize sometimes...

This summer I was going to the gym at least 3 times a week to run, play raquetball, basketball, or use those elliptical trainers/stationary bike type things. I haven't gone lately, though.

When I run I usually run a mile, when I play raquetball I usually play for two hours, and when I use the elliptical machine I pedal 2 miles on it in 20 minutes...

I discovered the other day I was extremely unfit, I used to play loads of sports: tennis, soccer, football (AFL), golf, touch footy, basketball, Little Athletics  etc.

I now do nothign and feel like crap. What are the best things you can do to exercise/work out within your own home?

How much do you exercise, what do you do to exercise?

You can do just the basics at home. Not even having to join a team or gym.

Push ups... install a bar to do pull ups in your own home.

I used to rock climb at gyms and go bouldering in places here in Texas and when I visited Mexico every summer.

I got out of the habit and now my sessions are light and just rare...and painful.

I quit my Stone Moves (rock climbing gym) membership and just never went back weekly anymore.

I kinda miss it but I messed my shoulder up once and now climbing would only make my shoulder weaker. . and it was painful after every session.

So I stopped that routine.

And THEN...I used to go to the gym.

But this is highly inconvenient with a work schedule that just doens't give me time anymore to go at least an hour of my day and drive there.

And the enviorment is not too hot either.

Too many gross guys all hitting on you... I mind the sweaty neighbors.

And hated paying high money for just an hour a day maybe three times a week.

ANYWAY

About an hour or two after I wake up

(don't ever do excercises..light or heavy right after you wake of just before you sleep)

I stretch first... less of it as I do it more and more each day...stretches are minimal after you build a routine. Your body adjusts.

I do crunches, pull ups on my bar (you can just install one right above your bedroom or closet door and your door will still close and all), leg lifts, push ups. . . bla blah

An hour of my afternoons is a session of pilates

(again, done in my own home if you get tapes and equipment)

every other week I jazz it up a little and do some tae bo

(again...tapes and I do them in my garage)

It seeeeems like alot. But it really isn't and I could afford to do more. But everyone has their schedule and body abilities/endurance/strength. But thats just it. You build as you go along.

Really really, the only effort put forth (aside from the actual body energy) is mentally. I try my very best to make myself keep the routine. Once you get started...and you keep to em, it becomes something you need ..kinda like food.

And you can only feel better if you keep your routines. I think holding onto routines proves that you are an awesome person.

That is all I have to say except....get to it

whoa! :shocked2:

no really.

Any little bit counts. Like a 15 minute walk/run could do you wonders of goodness.

What excercise did you do?

5 min on a exercise bike, 5 minutes on the treadmill. i hope in a few months to work back up to doing 45 minutes a day on the bike...its hard for a fat guy. i've gained 25 lbs since december...

^congrats with that

i never exercise for more than two days

hope you can do more than me haha

Really? you should try to double that....but to each their own...lol 2 a week isnt bad.

my goal is 6 days a week, im not stopping til im really skinny with a 6 pack and a nice tan....

yes and i tried to do that

but you know one day you feel like you want to exercise and the other day you feel too lazy to exercise

that's happen to me all the time

that is really awesome how you started in small increments.

Most people trying to build it up go all out and over exert their bodies and push themselves away from excercise like this.

your best bet is to start of slow and feel the way your body reacts to the new found excercises.

Soon you will be able to flash that body like NOBODIES business. GuysGW

O wow.. I listed my excercises not but one page back.

If ever I run... I do maybe three to five miles. This is waaaay less that I did when I had cross country in high school. We used to do 5 miles in the morning before school..and three+ miles after school. Not including cross country meets and personal training runs.

That is waaaay in my past.

(physically)

-awaits copy :cheesy:
