Surprisingly, I didn't find out about Augustana through Boston. I just bought their CD off iTunes on a whim. I'm so glad I did. <33333

The channel that has introduced the populace to such artists as Regina Spektor and Paolo Nutini is also giving you a double-thumbs up on San Diego's Augustana.

 

The band makes radio-riffic, hooky, alt-rock, and there's a good chance you've already heard its single "Boston" somewhere.

 

If this sounds up your alley, you might want to get there early, as the palatable UK act Vega4 will be opening up. Vega4 is kind of like a cross between Snow Patrol and Coldplay and worth checking out.

 

Also playing will be the UK singer-songwriter David Ford, whom we really can't say much about except he's sad and writes acoustic songs trying to convey that to you.

 

The all-ages show is Wednesday at Club Congress, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.. Tickets are $16.50, available online at virtuous.com.

Funny thing, as Vega4 played their set, I said, "Wow, they sound a lot like Snow Patrol! I really like that."

They're how I became a big fan of Snow Patrol! They opened for SP and I went to see Augustana but was in for more of a treat than that! Incredddddible set. At one point, it got very quiet before they played, so I shouted out how much I loved them. It was awesome.

You should, its amazing.

After liking a few songs I was sorta dissapointed when I saw them live on you-tube. However they have pretty nice, distinctive guitar and decent melodies so while I doubt I'll ever get an album, they're a treat on the radio.

Great band i think..Their second album is really good i think..there is a lot of good songs like.

Mayfield - awesome guitar riff and fantastic chorus!

Stars and Boulevards - possibly my favourite song from them.

Boston - Great for roadtrips.

SUNDAY BEST! - hehe it's so pretty.

Wasteland - simply a beautiful song.

Feel fine - his voice in the chorus makes me melt :embarassed:
