The contestant named Mutto is a HUGE fan of Coldplay. Tonight he sang Clocks which he performed average since he couldn't imitate Chris' falcetto but he is copying his style. he has been seen on the show wearing that brown CP shirt (I only make point of the colour because I have that on too) :rolleyes: and writing messages on this hand exactly how Chris does with MTF. I'm all for gaining inspiration and I like his style of singing, but it just didn't work for me.

Some dude also did Creep by Radiohead and he sang it okay but they shouldve left the musical arangement alone. They both cheeserized those songs totally!

^^ indeed, he must find his own style or else he'll become a contestant no one remembers. i even find it hard remembering the winners.

As soon as I saw those boxing movements at the beginning I knew it was going to be a disappointment. Maybe I'm being to harsh but I don't want people getting the wrong impression of Coldplay or Radiohead by thinking their songs are cheesy/corny.

yeah damien sang creep. maybe with damiens amazing falcetto, he should of done clocks and the other guy...well he should stay right away from ever singing coldplay tracks again.

hey anyone has a pic of the guy, coz i don't have Aussi Idol here........but i just wanna see him performing or smth...

i think his name is bobby. he was really good last week with cold chisel's when the war is over. i saw some cp style in him but in a totally different way compared to mutto, a good way. YES he would've! his voice is really goooood :o i wasn't expecting that at all.

Hm, that's always a huge mistake that contestans make.. When they're big fans of a certain artist and they sing their songs, just because of their deep love for them - but most of the time, it turns out awful!

Yes - when they imitate, it comes across as karaoke!!:P

well i really really like Mutto, i just got home as he finished so i saw nothing, but the little clip at the end of the show, from what i saw it sounded pretty good. and this is my absolute favourite song, i try to think of it this way; of course absolutely no will compare to coldplay's, so this is mutto's version. does anyone have the clip of mutto's song yet?

 

all i can say is mutto is an amazing performer, and i would love to see him do some more amazing songs in future

My advice: leave Coldplay songs well alone, unless you want to make a fool of yourself!;)

I've never ever seen a good performance of someone else singing a Coldplay song. It has never worked, and it will never work! But maybe it's just because we admire the band so much and there's just NOTHING that can be good enough for us :P

aussie idol always plays the best clips from the songs in previews so even if a person did really bad, they only show the best bit to give everyone an even go with the voting.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but if he is as big a Coldplay fan as you say, then he should know that Coldplay songs (especially Clocks!) should be left the hell alone lol.
