Concert Virgins

LMFAO. I don't know what to say. Background info: It was a myspace secret gig, announced yesterday, for here in Rhode Island.

I wrote a small entry up about it in my GJ:

I can't believe I said some of those things :laugh4:

Really though, another tip for concert newbies. Make the band laugh. No matter what. It's such an awesome feeling to make your idols laugh at/with you. ;) :laugh4: I've had both happen to me! :uhoh:

i saw that myspace bulletin.. oh man if it was in NYC i totally woudlve gone.. rhode island is just too far away from me.. their show on wednesday is sold out here.. BOOOOOO. i really wanted to see Mew again too..

:laugh3: LMAO BIG TIME!

You seriously got me laughing out loud. That's got to be the coolest thing that happened to someone I ever heard. Like not only related to bands. I mean EVER EVER EVER. You've got the chance to hang out with some cool people that happened to be the members of Kasabian, in like a really bad home party. COOLNESS GALORE

LMFAO YEAH. Seriously! :laugh4: Wow. What a mess.

Rhode Island, one big collective mess. It was pretty damn cool though, definately. Sometimes you just don't need music, yanno? I'll live. Doesn't make me love them any more or less.

Those kind of situations are always positive. I guess they'll remember you being one of those 7 curious people that showed up!

If it's in winter and you have hours to wait, wear two/three socks in each foot, A warm coat but not too big because you'll have too take it off and keep it in your hands if you're in the front. Be sure your eyes are recording everything, your ears are wild opened and keep all your memories for the rainy days. Don't smoke anything illegal (or not too much) and don't get drunk cause you won't live it the right way (or will leave the gig before it ends) and you'll get the people around annoyed.

I like the "don't still the rail" stuff... SO TRUE !

And if you can, don't go too closed to the baffle (don't know if it's the good word) because the sound is not really good: too heavy.

Just dig it !

awww!the big chickens!

i just don't have friends to go with most of the time!

Same with me. For some reason, a lot of bands choose to go to venues that are like, 1-2 hours away from me and not many people want to drive that far...

heh.bloody miles to a good concert venue back home, but a sister in glasgow helps-and befriending drivers.

thanks for all the advice guys, and keep posting your experiences of gigs if you'd like

I remember when I lost my concert virginity. It was when Dashboard Confessional opened for U2.

But if you don't count opening bands, then I lost my concert virginity to City Of Blinding Lights by U2

Ok, don't laugh but I lost my concert virginity to.....

The backstreet boys!!!:laugh3: :laugh3: I was 13, and I went with friends and my dad, he was bored out of his mind:lol: It was awesome at the time.

And Coldplay was my second concert, and I haven't been to any since so I'm a bit unexperienced.

Thanks everyone for the tips, they're really great and usefull. But I'm still not able to get tickets most of the time, so if anyone has tips on how to get good tickets that be great.

ahhaha backstreet boys, nice.

Yea the beginning of City Of Blinding Lights, that song live blew my mind man. Like I think it was more mind blowing than Where The Streets Have No Name live.

Woah, more mind blowing than WTSHNN. I want to see them live!!

the backstreet boys were the first band that I really liked.. I like them now.. I don't listen to their music since a lot of time but their songs brings me great memories... I always wanted to go to a concert of them but I couldn't :(

and coldplay.. I'm waiting for them.. hope to see them live someday.. I guess that'd be the best day ever!

I know it's never ever going to happen...

BUT

If The Verve and Soundgarden were ever to reform, I don't care where and how much it will cost me, but I'm seeing them live.

that'd be great...

I'd love to see the beatles live.... wish I could born in another place and a lot of years ago

I wish I could go back in time to see Pink Floyd:cool:

I'd like to see U2 in their beginning :P

oh man, my Rock and Pop Music prof from 1st year uni had a friend who actually saw The Beatles live. I was like "ohhhh man, that's intesne."

And my mom saw Rush, they were playing at her high school back when they were just a small time band.

the beatles... :stunned: awesome.. I'd love to see them live in concert...

lucky mom too :P

OMG that is a good way to lose your concert virginity!!! I lost my concert virginity to Pearl Jam, opening song was Can't Keep, closing song was Yellow Ledbetter. I hope U2 open with City of Blinding Lights when i see them this November!

Yea, supposedly you couldn't hear the band, because everyone's screaming would drown them out.

ahahah. Well my Pearl Jam concert virginity was broken in when Eddie Vedder came out and played Porch on an acoustic guitar and then introduced the opening act. Then when they came back on to play, they started with Release, ended with Yellow Ledbetter as always, and Rockin In The Free World with Bono.

Yea, City Of Blinding Lights live is mind-blowing.
