Albums to fall asleep to

Featured Replies

Some records have such an intimacy that falling asleep to them is really easy and enjoyable , my fav one's are :

Coldplay - Parachutes

Sigur Rós - Takk

Takk? :P idd say ( ) and Agaetis Byrjun but not Takk :P Takk is their happy album :nice: although whenever Andvari comes on yes i do fall asleep.. especially in the bus to uni  and i do agree with Parachutes.

Sigur Ros is brilliant to fall asleep to and I dont mean that in a bad way, its so relaxing! My flatmate next door to me and sometimes he plays it loud enought that I can hear it.

Yuup,

Sigur Rós - Takk

Beck - Sea Change

I agree Sigur Ros= perfect. Also Parachutes works. But only at low volumes. Otherwise cranked up I can sing-a-long for hours.

Sorry I can't offer more. Those are seriously the only ones I have tried!

Radiohead OK Computer, Sigur Ros, Parachutes...

opeth - damnation

christopher o'rilley - tribute to radiohead

air - moon safari

emilie simon - self titled

nuspirit helsinki - nuspirit helsinki

sia - color the small one

tina dickow - in the red

jim noir - tower of love

m ward - post war

nick drake - anything

grant green - idle moments

thom yorke - the eraser

porcupine tree - voyage 34

oh my god, for some reason i can't stand sigur ros when i'm trying to go to sleep. jack johnson either. my sister's worn them out for me. camera obscura's latest album's really good for that though. and feist.

Nick Drake - anything...THat one's true for me too!

Parachutes puts me to sleep when I need it to, and keeps me awake when I need it to.

Doves - Lost Souls

Oh you like Opeth..interesting.....are you also a fan of black/symphonic/gothic/heavy metal?

Brian Eno's "Music for Airports" always helps me...

Takk? :P idd say ( ) and Agaetis Byrjun but not Takk :P Takk is their happy album :nice: although whenever Andvari comes on yes i do fall asleep.. especially in the bus to uni  and i do agree with Parachutes.

oh i agree with () and takk...takk especially. though sometimes i can't sleep because i'm so interested in the tracks...but when i'm not trying too hard...takk is the one.

others:

parachutes/coldplay

arobtth/coldplay (though when clocks comes on i wanna get up and start moving)

eyes open/snow patrol

hopes and fears/keane

a few soundtracks, particularly that of band of brothers..ohh! :nice:

Nick Drake - anything...THat one's true for me too!

Parachutes puts me to sleep when I need it to, and keeps me awake when I need it to.

Doves - Lost Souls

YES! forgot about doves, although hmm i kind of think Lost Cities would make me fall asleep easier....

how do you people sleep to Takk? :P i cant help but start dancing whenever i listen to it.

i tried falling asleep with atghk playing but i was transfixed, lol there is no going to sleep for me when that album is on...the only exceptions are white lips kissed, louise louisa, but they're both at the end so the timing is perfect... :nice: their music is dreamy afterall :driftsaway:

^^ Yeah, totally agreed

I've fallen asleep while listening to Frengers though!

There are some songs on atghk too, just like you mentioned; White Lips Kissed, Louise Louisa etc but most of them are just too..dunno..rock? maybe too loud compared to the others..(?)

thats weird. i have a strange ability to fall asleep to rock. so screwed up. even muse can get me to sleep.

David Gray - White Ladder

Crowded House - Recurring Dream: The Very Best of Crowded House

The Verve - Urban Hymns

Travis - The Man Who

oh god david gray is good. i didnt know all those songs were by him, and on the same album untiul like a few days ago.

thanks caz, ive decided i'm gonna fall asleep to my oh my tonight!

Oh you like Opeth..interesting.....are you also a fan of black/symphonic/gothic/heavy metal?

i wouldn't say a big fan of black or symphonic, but a fan of metal in general.
