T-shirt weather in January??

Featured Replies

Is this winter? It's hotter than July... at night

Freakish weather conditions have made temperatures this month hotter than July at night.

The average night temperature for July in London is 12C, but overnight temperatures in the capital hit 12.6C on Monday. A normal January night averages 1.5C.

Met Office figures show that the country is on course for another record-breaking month - the average temperature last week was the highest for January in 350 years.

It was unseasonably sunny in London at lunchtime today but morning commuters endured a miserable, drenched journey to work.

Overnight storms dumped half an inch of rain on the capital and conditions worsened between 6am and 9am this morning, with heavy bursts of rain and 40mph gusts.

Rush-hour problems were compounded on the Tube when a track fire at Mansion House led to the Circle line and the District line between Whitechapel and South Kensington being suspended.

Last night saw the temperature rise to between 10 and 11C across the South East, with cloudy and damp conditions set to keep nights warm for the rest of the week.

oh, i went to that outdoor mall yesterday and walked around with a t-shirt, too.

ahaha...was kinda funny. i've never walked around outside wearing only a t-shirt in january. still remember winter 2005 when it was -16°C in italy.. nice experience though.

Still cold inside when workmen digging up the verge to place new street lighting decide to cut the main power cable for ludgershall camp :(

The rain has got so bad around here, that the River Bourne, a river that hasn't flowed since the floods of 2004, has began to flow again.

i'm glad it doesnt snow here. snow is lovely in the mountains but i dont like it in villages or cities, its only getting cold and icy!

Very true. Snow has its place, and that place is ski resorts and in mountain areas in general................................. ;)

Over here there is about 10 inches, maybe more, of snow and all the schools and buses are being closed and shut down.

I have certainly noticed that it is getting hotter earlier...its already really bad here...and I dont like the heat at all!!!

Dude, military wintercamp in the coldest place of Belgium, there should've been about -10° ... It was 6°. I really wanted to take off some clothes sometimes. There should've been about 30cm of snow at least, didn't even snow there yet this year. How pathetic.

I live right outside Buffalo, and believe it or not, we have no snow... We get killed in October, yet high 40s in January. wtf Earth?

Is England really that cold? wow!

I thought this was gonna say temperatures were at least 30C. 12.6C is nothing!

It is about 40C here right now.

well its winter in england.

it was about 36 c in london this summer, this was one of the hottest days ever.

It's all set to get colder in the coming couple of weeks .It'll snow where I am for sure, around 22nd Jan or so (North County Durham) - which is good because it doesn't feel like the year has even begun properly until snow has shut down my town. Windy as hell here at present and it has been so since september.
