Has everyone forgot what Ken Nelson did with the first two albums? Apparently Coldplay has.

Eno worked on X&Y, Nelson hardly touched it. The result was a "poppish", poor-sounding production imo.

I just don't understand not bringing in the man that took their first two GREAT albums and made them sound INCREDIBLE.

As much as I love the first two albums, I think it would be a mistake to stick to only one producer everytime. It's good to try new things, otherwise it would just get samey - and it's never good to try to reproduce the same sound as an earlier album, as it never ends up sounding as good...

I don't think Eno produced or had anything to do with X&Y. It was Danton Supple, wasn't it?

Exactly. Danton Supple produced almost every track on X&Y and even some on A Rush of Blood. Brian Eno provided some synths for 'Low' and that was it. It wasn't like he helmed the entire album. Eno is a veritable album god.

I'm excited about this. I want something so new and wonderful it'll make people sit up in their seats. Not just nod their heads and say 'Oh yeah... that's pretty good... it's Coldplay'.

I'm sick of these people moaning for another Parachutes.

OMG Me too!

People: Parachutes is DONE. The Parachutes era is over, Ok??? it's a fantastic album but if they try to recreate I will seriously throw the new album out of my window. They need something new and refreshing and that's exactly what Eno is going to do, I hope. :)

That's what I can agree with! They need to move on.

PS blackchickintheback, I bet you'll buy two copies of this CD before throwing it of the window!:D
