Time machine

Featured Replies

very simple... if you had a time machine and you could travel in time, to what year would you go and why...

I would travel to 1490... the beginning of the portuguese adventures oversea... I'm fascinated by this period and I'd love to experience it... for now... I can always dream... :D

The 1960s...this is what comes to my mind spontaneously...the music the people...I consider this decade as such a cool decade....although it maybe even wasn't haha....

and (in a negative way) 2nd world war time.....I know this may sound so very absurd now...but I would like to be there just for maybe 2 hours and see how it really wa.s...I know that it was horrible.....but uhm...I don't know how to explain it.....we watched so many films about it.....and it is so unbelieveable and I can't imagine all this......I always thought when we watched these films or documentaries that this couldn't have been real.....I mean even the cars and the people in it....the controlling...and ew the everything....

it sounds so stupid........but uhm....

i dont understand how people can see those oversea 'adventures' as a positive part of a country's history. they surley brought more harm than good. i'm not particularly refering to portugal though.

i'm with julia on this one. the 60ies, oh yes! :nice:

we're talking about 500 years ago!!!! where the law of the strongest ruled... but I see that so positive that I'm proud of that time of our history...

of course we took benefit from the others with this... but we still see that today (Irak)... and I think that in the 21st century the shame should be bigger...

yeah i know.

i still dont see it as a positive thing because thats when colonialism started, transatlantic slave trade and all that, innit?

lots of people only see the fact that their country used to be very powerful. well thats what i realised when i lived in england anyway.

i'm not saying countries dont take benefit of others anymore. but i wouldnt say what happens today is worse either.

I'd go back to 1989,and probably get born in another country :D

I'd like to go back to the 1700s/1800s just to see what life was like back then (in the UK though, not Australia). Everything was done so differently. But then I think of hygeine and quality of life back then and I'm quite glad I'm not there.

I'd go forward in time and then come back and brag about hearing the 20th Coldplay album, lol!

Seriously though, I'd love to go back to the holy land during the time of Christ and find out just how much of the Biblical account of his life was actually true.

LOL,try and bring a CD or two as a proof, you can sell them for millions

Europe in the 1500s. Like the Renaissance times. I find that time so interesting. Sure, it's a tad (:uhoh:) dirty, but that's okay. :P

There was also lots of plague about!!:stunned:

I'd go approximately 4000 years back in time to see the first civilisations because they're really fascinating. :)

And in 1490 like tilolas, because those times were interesting, though not really good for some nations.

And I always wanted to visit the 19th century and the beginning of 20th centrury for some unknown reasons. Perhaps because I like exploring past life...

I'd also love to go back to 18/19th century New Orleans and see it the way Anne Rice writes about it...Yeah, I know, more plague...but the architecture and the nightlife...ahhhh!:) :) :)

No I would like to just bring peace to the world !

No I would like to just bring peace to the world !

It would probably have the opposite effect. Somebody would no doubt bump you off to get hold of the weapon, and then everybody would be fighting to try to get control of it!!

I would get some slaves to build me fortress ... and leave someone to manage issues for me. But I will keep more advance weoponary if it gets out of hand

Daryl...snap out of it..it's not really happening..:laugh4:
