Im sorry but... To tell you the truth, those song titles sound quite lame, for lack of a better word.

I do have confidence that the guys will not release anything with a name as bad as "Fall if Man"... Jesus, I hope so...

I think the song titles sound like they are trying to be different or weird. I dunno.

I just don't like them.

i hope coldplay will be jazz!? haha thats crazy... i do like they're playing alternative..

wow.. that will be great. cant wait to hear it!

Where did people get these names? They're showing up on wikipedia too.

Where did people get these names? They're showing up on wikipedia too.

I'd like to know that too. I can't see them releasing a new album this year. Even though that would be great. Most likely 2008.

Do you guys think that one blow away song on their new album will be like Yellow, Clocks or Speed of Sound?

I don't know about the blowaway song, as they thought Fix You was the focal point of X&Y.

Anybody can edit wikipedia so these track names could just be made up for all we know.

This is the complete tracklist of the songs that will be on the album, i think:

Mining On The Moon

Bucket For A Crown (?)

The Fall Of Man

The Butterfly

Blasphemy

How You See The World (edited?)

Deja Vu

Echo My Name (I Can't Believe You're Gone)

Something Ain't Right

Fury

It's all for now!

Isn't Fury a Prince song? And some of those other titles sound really strange, too...

I agree, although I do like the title, "The Fall of Man."

But we don't even know if these are real. Like "Something Ain't Right." : I don't know, but Coldplay doesn't seem like a band that would have a song title with grammatical errors. :laugh3: It sounds like a R&B or country song.

i'd like the songs to be ones we haven't heard before, i want some new stuff. they said there is gunna be one amazing song, but we'll see

Well lets see here, Parachutes was released in July of 2000, a Rush of Blood to the Head in August of 2002, and finally X&Y was released June of 2005. So its taken them 2 years to make a rush of blood to the head, 3 years to make X&Y, and i believe it only took them one year to complete Parachutes? (Wikipedia says they started 1999.) It's taken them longer for each new Album, so i'm guessing the earliest we'll see their next album release is early 2008. As for the names, they arn't just random, i guess the lyrics are out there as well. I got Bucket for a Crown's from Songmeanings.com, they didn't have any other lyrics for the other new songs.

Bucket for a Crown-

When you’re sitting on a beach in a car with the paint dried up

Well, you’re gonna give a cause when the rain washed up

Well being just there with the gypsy talking to my friend

But you’ll never get with it if you don’t get respect

Oh well you’ll never get with it if you just want respect

But sometimes the money’s gonna run out

And you’ll be standing on the corner with a belly full of doubt

Sometimes somebodys gonna bring you down

And you’ll be standing on your own with a bucket for a crown

Well me and the boys were standing thinking we were hip

I don’t wanna be the captain of a sinking ship

Well me and the boys in a town where the mormon go

Listening to a session by noel gallagher

I was listening to a session by noel gallagher

They said sometimes your money’s gonna run out

And you’ll be standing on a corner with a belly full of doubt

Oh someday somebody’s gonna bring you down

And you’ll be standing on a corner with a bucket for a crown

Oh you’ll be standing on a corner

Just waiting on a corner

Standing on a corner with a bucket for a crown

^ I really like this :D

Heres hoping it does release in 2007 though.

Thanks for the lyrics ;)

But...

... whats that all about?:stunned::laugh3:

EDIT: I think the only reason why you only found the lyrics for Bucket is because that is the only new song that Chris has performed so far.

i like the lyrics for bucket for a crown, though not the music. and it seems like one of chris's throwaway songs that wont have anything to do with the album whatsoever. he wrote it in one night, apparently. and he writes prolifically, according to various sources, so even if these song titles are actual songs, they may never see an album or a b-side. i bet the guys have an enormous backlog of songs that will never be released. im drooling at the thought.

i think ive given up guessing at when the next album will be released. im still wetting myself thinking about it, yes, but these things cant be predicted, really. itll come when it comes. im more interested in hypothosizing about what it will be like. personally, i think "sleeping sun" and "the world turned upside down" are good clues. i find those songs different than anything else the guys have ever done, especially in terms of lyrics. i think theyre both innovative and original and fresh and have a new angle on the same sort of coldplay flavor. personally, i really hope the new stuff goes off in that direction, especially lyrically. i think the lyrics on X&Y were a bit of a letdown for me.

i dont think the boys will disappoint.

really? i heard that coldplay will be releasing their 4th album..

some of those songs that you listed like Deja Vu and Fury were also rumored to be on X&Y before it came out.I remember there was a false tracklist that came out and some of those songs were on that list and then when X&Y came out they werent on the album or even b-sides so i dont know that those ever existed.Plus wasnt there some rumor that X&Y was suppose to be called Zero Theory??haha.None of it was true so i wouldnt get caught up in those names.

Yeah it's coming out this year, latest rumors are October. Brian Eno is on board as a producer for the album. So far the following tracks are speculated to be on it:

Bucket For a Crown

Mining on the Moon

The Fall of Man

The Butterfly

(I Shall Be Released)? (Don't know about that one)

There was also some talk before that the following old tracks would be re-recorded and perhaps re-worked for this album:

Solid Ground

Ladder to the Sun

How You See The World

Gravity

Would someone upload these? Or point me to where I can get them.

THere was also talk of a song called Something Ain't Right, an outtake from X&Y, and some other outtakes, the names of WHich i forget...but none of these or the songs in the last post are out there, except Bucket For A Crown.

Does anyone know if they've actually started recording yet?

I remember when Chris was on the Cris Moyles show in '06 he said the next album would be the best one yet, and Moyles asked how'd he know that, and Chris said, "Because it's already written." Now I know things change, and he's more than likely written more songs, but that's a big deal that it's all written.

I hope Chris' lyrics get more cryptic on the next record. Like in Parachutes. Lately he just slams words and overly obvious rhymes in your face. So, I hope that changes.

But, I'm excited none the less.

I have it on pretty good authority that they've written alot and are workshopping ideas in their new studio...and you know Brian Eno's supposed to be producing it, right?
