What do you think makes a typical English person?

CHEERS IF YOU ANSWER!! :D I only have 2 weeks to do this.... :bigcry:

If you are from England:

Do you like living in England?

Yeah. I'm not saying I would never consider ever living anywhere else. But I live in a great part of England and can't complain about anything in my lifestyle. I'm very appreciative of what I have and where I am.

What would you change about England?

If I'm honest, the weather. I'm not a big fan of cold. Other than that, there is a big percentile of our population who do idiotic things. We have too many criminals, too many unemployed people, too many racists. But I understand that there is no quick fix to this. Perhaps in generations of the future these problems with be less prominent.

What do you think makes a typical English person?

Unfortunately it's not a good perception. This is only because I live here though. I am often grateful but ashamed to be English. There are some people in England who I don't want to be classed in the same nationality as.

But that's not answering that question. The typical English person for me is, really, a very privaledged person who doesn't appreciate what they have, and take enough notice of the world around them.

I would say I'm probably too much like that typical person for my own liking. I think I've seen the best and worst England has to offer though.

Kara, is that enough? Do I not need to answer the top questions? If you need me to I will :P

And on a more personal note - TJ Walker broke his hand and is dunzo for the season :( I am sad.

If you don't mind my asking? What class is this for? Something to do with sociology?

I'll answer it when I have a minute... I can be kind of long winded with these things... ;)

What is the first thing you think when you think of ENGLISH people?

Would you like to be ENGLISH/move to ENGLAND?

Yes i would, but hey i can't complaing about living in the USA...

What do you think is good about ENGLISH people?

They're funny, and make good music. :D

What do you think is bad about ENGLISH people /the country in general?

Kings and Queens are just wierd to me, but then again i've alwase lived under a presidency.

What do you think is the best thing to come out of ENGLAND?

For me at least, Coldplay!

What is the funniest thing about ENGLAND?

I love the show Extras right now, and have only seen a bit, it's funny though!

What clothes/fashion do you most associate with ENGLAND?

That everyone drinks tea in england, and bad teeth :o

We all know that's not true though.

What do you think makes a typical English person?

Well from what I know Russian people don't really like English. First of all, because Russians don't like learning English, they think it's way more ugly than Russian language so they suppose the whole world should learn Russian instead.

And Russians mostly don't get English humor. I gave my mother one of the books about Jeeves and Wooster because I found it really really funny and she was like 'eh?...' That's it.

Erin, my course is 'graphics and advertising'....this is a brief based on audience identidy and the question is 'what does it really mean to be English?' (produce a story or scenario of some kind at the end)....its hard to explain, lol.

What do you think is your country's opinion of England?

Well, I think my country's opinion to England is good. Both nations have so many things in common, like the pashion to football or the bad weather. British and American influences are very strong here. Unfortunately due to our horrible past not everything is fine. People in England still seem to have the opinion that we all are still nazis etc. Yellow press like "The Sun" are especially responsible for this wrong picture. Hope World Cup helped us a bit to get a better reputation all over the world though.
