There's good and bad people everywhere so I don't see the point in hate all the people of a country just because they're from there...

that show about the sweet sixteens is for the most spoiled brats in the country, but how could people think that all people from the US are like that? we have such a high poverty rate

BAck in the 80s...well, long before that actually, alot of people had the idea that all Russians were alike. Once the cold war ended, we actually started seeing Rusians as unique individuals. These things come and go.

I don't hate them..but i'm not that fond of them either...due to a certain person....

I have traveled quit a bit to the UK and I encounter a large amount of racism toward Americans. It's not like I'm there acting like a twat, they just hear my accent and go off. Really bad in pubs and on trains. Scarey was when when I went to the National Gallery one day and there was an Anti-Nuke rally being held in Trafalgar Square, which quickly became an antiBush, we hate America rally. I though I was going to be killed when I foolishly opened up my yapper and ordered a bottle of water from a vender. Most people on here are very nice, but on many of the footie boards, I catch hell for being American and they often discuss their hatred toward us. I ask them if they even know any Americans and they generally don't.

all the kids are spoiled, have cars at the age of 16 and us americans do not know ANYTHING about geography or history.

it's not..:"oh, you're from sweden and you're from ireland." it's all european.

plus, i bet some us americans have never heard of bulgaria or cyprus.

 

 

I have to agree with you there, even though I'm from America.

 

Kids can be rather....naive and ignorant here about Europeans. All they think about them is 'they're weird' or 'oh the guys are hot'. And they really don't know anything about geography or history. There are kids who don't know where Russia is (and it's the largest country by area...:rolleyes: ). It's pathetic. And I'm not saying ALL kids here are like that, but in general American youth, yes, you are pretty much right.

I don't know about other Americans, but I don't think negatively of Europeans. I think I treat you all here nicely.

just to clear things up hehe, i'm half European.

I dont necessarily hate Americans, i just think that they can be very naive and gullible sometimes, and i'm saying this judging from what i see on TV, and all these stupid shows that they have on.. and i definitly dont think less about Bush. he is, to me, literally the stupidest person on the planet.. and i think the fact that he got voted for twice can really tell a lot about how Americans think..

 

but of course this doesnt include them all, just the majorty hehe..

i mean, there are a lot of great people coming from there.. like some bands and actors.. etc

I have several American friends in the U.S. I’ve known them for years, specially one of them I’ve been writing to for ten years. Whenever I go to the US, it’s a real delight to visit this country and to see my friends if I have the opportunity. To say French dislike the American is a gossip. It only comes from the war in Iraq where French refused to take part to this war and it’s understandable. Numerous American soldiers died for nothing and this war has destroyed American families that will have never put themselves together because of this huge loss. As a result, we’ve passed ourselves as cowards. I think this gossip comes from a real truth that is most French dislike Bush but it has no connection with the US population
