Recorded instrumental version of Charlie Brown on Sky Sports
Oh, why would they do that? I don't want to complain about hearing a new Coldplay song, but why the fuck do Sky fucking Drama get the song, and not only that, get to cut it to pieces, before we do? Priorities all mixed up there, that is not why I'm a fan of this band. I'm disgusted.

scrubs
'Dear Friends, I am sorry it has taken me so long to write, but I feel kindo silly posting without anything too interesting to say. I've also been stalling to talk about some big Scrubs news, however I've just been informed that I'm not allowed to talk about anything related to Scrubs and it's current fate. What I can tell you is that we are currently shooting 18 episodes for the 8th season. I am not allowed to discuss where one might watch them. (More news to come.)' (From Zach Braff's Myspace blog) I'm not really sure it's a good idea, but yeah, they're doing more.

Dave Holmes via Billboard: Coldplay Finish Fourth Album | Summer Tour On Its Way!
New Coldplay album in final stages (Dave Holmes interview) New Coldplay album in final stages By Jim Welte - MP3.com February 22, 2008 at 12:56:00 PM | more stories by this author Manager calls new record "their best album," saying it "definitely takes them in some different directions." It's been a rough year already for EMI, with new owner Guy Hands unveiling plans to cut up to 2,000 jobs, big-name departures, and rumors of even more. Coldplay But while there is no magic cure for the struggling UK label giant, a new album from Coldplay will certainly help. The company's financial fortunes have long been tied to Coldplay, and the UK quartet is in the final mixing stages of its forthcoming, as-yet-untitled fourth studio album. The album is tentatively set for a summer release on Capitol Records. "We're just about finished," band manager Dave Holmes told Billboard.com. "They're in the final mixing. They'll start mastering, and away we go. I think it's their best album. They've really delivered. It's a fantastic record. They've really put the work in." Frontman Chris Martin and company began working on the record in November of 2006 at their studio in North London, taking a break in March of last year to tour South America for the first time. Producers are Brian Eno, Markus Dravs, and the band themselves. Holmes said the album "definitely takes them in some different directions. I'm not a music critic, but it's certainly a progression, with some really great songwriting." Holmes said the band managed to seclude itself away from all the talk about EMI's financial turmoil. "When all that was going on we were over here [in London] in the studio, so we kind of steered clear of all that. We've got a great plan in place." Coldplay is still working on its tour plans in support of the album, with Holmes saying that the band has something "special" in mind. "If we can pull this off it's going to be quite different," Holmes said. "We're going to try something a little different in the arena space." So...sounds pretty good then!

Coldplay Whatever it takes
And Damien Rice's most recent album is called 9...anymore for anymore?

Corporate sponsorship of music albums
Honestly, I think if this were to happen we would all be entirely justified in just downloading the thing for free. However, given that Coldplay have turned down millions and millions of pounds of advertising money in the past I can't see them sticking a Coca-Cola logo on the front of their album now...

Q 2008 Preview (Cover feat. Chris Martin)
Just got it today, pretty good article actually, sounds like they properly spoke to the guys and got quite a lot of stuff we didn't already know. They reckon release will be May/June. For those of you unable to buy it, have picked a few bits out; 'Another thing that helped them out of the rut was hynosis, with the band's new found adventurousness extending to writing music while in an altered state. Some might conclude they've misplaced their marbles, but Martin seems unconcerned. "Everything over this past few months has been about taking off any shackles," he says. "We feel like we have so much to prove and so many ideas that we'd like to try - sometimes you need a hypnotist to give you the bravery to do it." For the record, he insists the experience, "was fun and interesting, and we wrote some nice things." 'They've also tried to keep things brief, with the album designed to come in at 9 songs and just over 42 minutes.' 'The final nine songs will be chosen from a shortlist of 20, with mixing having been completed before Christmas. Favourites include the handclap-laden possible first single Cemetaries Of London, the string-assisted Yes and Lost!, which, according to Champion was "drastically" reinvented by ditching its "big hip-hop beat". Champion also says many of the songs share a theme: "Trying to remember what's important in your life, rather than being carried away by the trappings of other things."

What really grinds your gears?
Along those lines can i nominate the Daily Mail newspaper as the thing that annoys me the most, so full of needless, self-righteous prejudice and yet still manages to be one of Britain's most popular newspapers. What really tipped me over the edge was this wonderful story from the summer http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=473578&in_page_id=1770 which starts; 'There are few sights so serene as a swan sailing majestically along the Grand Union Canal. Except, that is, when it is being chased by a gang of hungry, knife-wielding Eastern Europeans.' Ugh...

Jokes,people!
GASP!!! Black Books! Love that show, is very funny, although it possibly doesn't work so well written down! Since I've entered I may as well contribute a seasonal Christmas cracker classic; What did the inflatable teacher at the inflatable school say to the inflatable child caught holding a pin? You let me down, you let your friends down, you let your school down but most of all... you let yourself down. *Gets coat. Runs*

coldplays 4th album to release in Febuary?
Yeah, we found out when X&Y was delayed how important Coldplay are to EMI so I wouldn't be suprised if the release date is dictated at least partially by how EMI are doing financially. If the financial year 2007/08 has been bad for them they might want it out before April to make things look a bit better. If they're doing ok, then there might be a bit less pressure on the guys to get it out quickly. I dunno really, just guessing, I hope its soon though; I don't think I can stand it much longer, all I want is a date or a few seconds of music...oh well!
