GOAL Arsenal 6-0 Slavia Prague

Me thinks Arsenal might have won

That was a very poor performance from Slavia

...but very awesome by Arsenal. :D

Besiktas is hardly a European force. Man Utd's 7-1 thrashing of Roma last season easily beats that score ;)

Liverpool needed a win...so hey. Props to them.

After that Milan knocked out Man Utd very easily:laugh3:

Viva Milan, we won 0-3 over Shakhtar:D

Right now...

Manchester United vs. Dynamo Kyiv

2-nil

:)

Edit: 4-nil Manchester

So Man U and Arsenal are safe in the next round, Chelsea have 1 foot in the door but Liverpool still have to win their last 2 games.

How funny would it be if Liverpool beat porto well, but lost their final match, and ended up in the uefa cup :laugh3:

Liverpool left it late and still need a result away at Marseille. Should do it though given the firepower they have. 12 goals in their last 2 CL games.

Went to the stadium last evening to watch Werder Bremen - Real Madrid... and we won 3:2 without Wiese, without Frings, without Diego! :) I'm sooo happy!

By the way, when will Italian teams be banned from the European championships at last? Terrible pictures again in Rome... :dozey::angry:

I'm worried about Man U's travels to Roma, in a game which means absolutely nothing in the table, but the fans might want to get revenge for the 7-1 on their home turf.

Uefa moves Champions League final

The Champions League final will move to Saturday from 2010 and Wembley is on the shortlist to host it, says Uefa.

The Intertoto Cup is to be abolished and the format of the Uefa Cup altered.

Qualification for the Champions League will also change, with 22 teams earning places based on their league finish and a two-part tournament for the rest.

Five places will be disputed by 15 teams from leading nations, and the rest contested by teams from Uefa's 40 other member nations.

The decisions were taken at a Uefa executive committee meeting in Lucerne.

Format changes also mean that three Premier League teams will qualify automatically for the group stage, as will the champions of Scotland.

But the fourth-placed Premier League side will face a stiffer test in the qualifying round, as they are more likely to face stronger opponents than under the current format.

"We are all of the opinion that this is a great competition which provides a considerable spectacle," said Uefa president Michel Platini about the changes.

"I also hope that playing the UEFA Champions League final on a Saturday will give families, especially children, the chance to see the game."

The Uefa Cup is also to be substantially changed between 2009 and 2012.

There will be 12 groups of four teams, with the top two of each group progressing to the knock-out stage, where they will be joined by the eight clubs that finish the group stage of the Champions League in third place.

Berlin's Olympiastadion, the Allianz Arena in Munich, Valencia's Mestalla and Real Madrid's Bernabeu Stadium are the other venues on the shortlist for the 2010 Champions League final with Wembley.

They might have gotten beaten, but with Benfica beating Shakhtar Donetsk, they go into the knockout rounds :)

Liverpool & Chelsea are into the final 16.

Valencia doesn't even make it into the uefa cup :o

United fans stabbed in Rome

Injuries not thought to be serious

The incidents happened in the city centre in the Italian capital, although the injuries are not thought to be serious.

Italian police have confirmed that the United supporters were hurt following trouble in Rome, while two fans were arrested.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: "It appears there was trouble outside the stadium.

"A number of British fans were injured and two British nationals have been arrested.

"Our consular officials are on the way to the hospital to check on conditions, the numbers involved and whether anyone needs assistance.

"The situation is now said to be calm both outside and inside the stadium."

United had been fearful of problems ahead of the game following incidents in the club's Champions League quarter-final at Stadio Olimpico in April.

During that game, several fans were hurt by police after disturbances in the crowd between both sets of supporters.

Sir Alex Ferguson expressed hope on Tuesday that the game would pass off peacefully and certainly the Italian police, who were condemned for their heavy handed tactics earlier this year, were leaving little to chance.

The 1,200 United fans who made the trip to Italy were largely shepherded into the stadium two hours before kick-off, while segregation, made easier by a less than capacity crowd left no opportunity for supporters to be pelted by missiles, as was the case on their last visit.

disgraceful :embarassed:

i guess italian clubs should finally get banned from europe.
