My fav title is Violet Hill. :nice: awww Sounds so dreamy. Reminds me of Running Up That Hill for some reason, idk.

I'm currently trying to extract titles using Photoshop; the last line looks most promising, but I'll post my finding when I can!

Well, they are retracting from the lavish X&Y album which SOME say had too many songs ( NOT ME )

I began to play around in Photoshop with the list of titles; couldn't really get too far but you can see most in the last black block-out.

Album "no more than 42 minutes", song named "42"...

 

Also, in Japanese, 4 (shi) and 2 (ni) are together pronounced "going to death" (死に). Because of that, in Japan, 42 is considered as a disastrous number. This happens in Hong Kong too, as 42 sounds like "easy death" in Cantonese.

I like some of the titles like 42, Violet Hill, Rainy Day, and Lost!. I don't like LeftRightLeftRightLeft, Yes!, and Poppy Fields, they sound...weird. :thinking:

Coldplay where renowned for there good choice of names simple, effective and to the point but i think they're slipping. these names are awful they're all lar-dee-da

coldplay said from the first day that 13 songs are too many for one album, so i really doubt that there will be more than 9 songs (maybe a hidden track) on the cd. i also hardly doubt that there will be songs with 10min or so like jesus of superbia (or whatever this weird song was called).

but i think if there are really 9 tracks released on the 4 album we can all hope for many singles (maybe 9 :)) with many b-sides...

as prospekt said a few weeks ago : let's all hope for the best...

I definetely like "Lost!", Just seems like a perfect follow up to "Don't Panic", "Politik" and "Square One". Don't know exactely why, but I definetely like it.

 

"Cemeteries of London" sounds great to i think.

 

"42"-I think this could be "the Coldplay-song". There have been things said that there will be one track that will be "the coldplay-song", you know like "Stairway to heaven". I just have a feeling that it's this track, you know 41 minutes, a song named 42, an abstract name. Hopefully a Classic.

 

I don't like the names "Poppy Fields" and "LeftRightLeftRightLeft", Poppy Fields sounds very cheesy.

 

The other names are...just names I guess.

 

But a song can't be judged by it's name, just the name can be judged. I mean, "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face" and "A Rush Of Blood To the Head", those names are pretty weird but the songs are amazing!

 

So I guess we'll just gonna have to sit here and wait until the album comes out...

i just checked coldplay.com and AM AMAZED at the fact they put new track names on the site. did they ever do that before? Right now my big question is the mysterious crossed out names.

Maybe they are just taking the piss.
