October 9, 200718 yr When you order the boxset, does the money come out straight away or will the money come out nearer the date when they start shipping the boxsets? Not sure yet, I ain't checked my statement.. BUT the download is only 160Kbps mp3.....I've sent a big email to them about this and everyone should.....that's some bad quality right there!!! Email them about it here - [email protected] Seriously people have paid money for this and they get 160kbps??? Crap.
October 9, 200718 yr People are saying its coming 10am tomorrow UK time, how do they know this when in the email waste just sent me they don't give a specific time?

October 9, 200718 yr When you order the boxset, does the money come out straight away or will the money come out nearer the date when they start shipping the boxsets?Q. When am I charged for my order? A. All credit card, debit card transactions are debited at the time you submit your order on the store. The transaction will be shown on your statement under the name WASTE PRODUCTS Ltd http://www.inrainbows.com/Store/Advice.html
October 9, 200718 yr Can't it just simply be recoded to 192, 256 or 320kbps? Well, not after it's already been encoded to 160kbps - transcoding it to a higher mp3 bite rate actually would make it worse - because mp3 is a "lossy" compression type. But they could easily encode it to 192 or 256 from the original CD.
October 9, 200718 yr People are saying its coming 10am tomorrow UK time, how do they know this when in the email waste just sent me they don't give a specific time? people are getting that from this article at nme.com http://www.nme.com/news/radiohead/31669 whether or not it's credible has yet to be determined i believe...
October 9, 200718 yr Same here! I've just sent a complaint to them. See GazeboflossUK's post, I agree that we should all complain.
October 9, 200718 yr Author Can't it just simply be recoded to 192, 256 or 320kbps? You can go down in quality, but you can't go up in quality, it gets worst if you try and recode into a higher bit-rate as the data has already been lost.
October 9, 200718 yr Author The lossless lovers will be up in arms! Don't worry you can get a copy of the lossless when the Boxsets get posted
October 9, 200718 yr people are getting that from this article at nme.com http://www.nme.com/news/radiohead/31669 whether or not it's credible has yet to be determined i believe... Thanks for the help, NME is extremely slow at the moment.
October 9, 200718 yr Author Thanks for the help, NME is extremely slow at the moment. 10:00 is the time they said they will start to do a track by track review of the album once it's been downloaded.
October 9, 200718 yr 10:00 is the time they said they will start to do a track by track review of the album once it's been downloaded. I see... you still think it will be available at midnight tonight?
October 9, 200718 yr I agree... I was expecting 192kbps minimum. Yes. It's actually quite bad I feel. Something needs to be done. I have a music technology degree and know a fair bit about audio and with 160Kbps you really are missing so much sound/music. I mean all mp3's are far less quality than CD 16-Bit 44.1 Khz...But a least 192 and 256kbps encoded mp3's have enough quality about them so that it's almost impossible to tell on the standard of audio system people use. Only high-end equipment would bring out the ugly audio compression artefacts. We weren't even told about this before buying. Sure I'll get my CD when the discbox is posted but of all the bands I think Radiohead and their people should know better. I thought Radiohead would know that current download prices (like on iTunes) are far too high when you take into account how low the quality is compared to CD's. I think everyone should email...seriously. [email protected]
October 9, 200718 yr I've just sent a complaint to them. See GazeboflossUK's post, I agree that we should all complain. Have just done it! :)
