So if Snow Patrol is a diet Coldplay, does that mean Snow Patrol has less suger and is supposedly good for you?

no way, I like snow patrol but they are not as good as coldplay

Snow Patrol are a good singles band, but they haven't made a brilliant album just yet.

Plus, Gary Lightbody isn't a very good singer to be honest.

Those Radiohead comparisons have always confused. I'm not terribly knowledgable about Radiohead...can anyone tell me why they're always linked to coldplay?

 

It's not hardly a secret that OK Computer inspired Coldplay's Parachutes, Muse's Showbiz, etc.

Not that Coldplay and Muse copied Radiohead's sound, but there's definitely an influence knowledgeable.

I can never truely understand why I love Coldplay and can never accept any other musicians as being as good as them. I was never a music girl, in fact before I listened to Coldplay (thus any kind of music) I had no 'special thing' about me I was just normal, and I now sorta has this persona in my school as being the music lover.

 

But still, I can never understand why it was that one song I heard on an Airplane (Square One) and the one video clip (Talk) I saw that got me into Coldplay, like, sometimes I will love a song, and then go and chack out the artist, but I never like any of their other songs, but with Coldplay, I couldn't get enough, it was like 'These guys are amazing' and before I even knew what they looked like (C'mon, they're all gorgeous), I loved them....you know, music wise.

 

yes that talk video only hooked me really to the coldplay like anything.:thinking:i am also not a music girl before coldplay.infact i don't have any other artists that are noticingly my favorites before its coldplay that got me really into something a new amazing world.

yeah me too i am also like that before.not much to say about this.only just have a look on an artist and then forget them.but for Coldplay its entirely different case.

I think Chris said one time that Coldplay is just diet Radiohead. If this is true Snow Patrol is definately diet Coldplay.

for this remark i think that Chris in his earlier days while he was just learning to play keyboards before coming into the band there is a school teacher of his who doen't want as he studied in sherbourne school doesn't want him to be in band.but there is some other encouraging school teacher called Mr.Scott or someone who is very encouraging and radiohead as its radiohead times then has influenced him to start or come up with a idea of starting a band.

maybe not the snow patrol,but if we talk about an u.k. band the editors can outshine the coldplay

Coldplay are never compared with others because

what ever Chris Martin writes he has nothing to do with other bands and similarities.

he writes each song thinking a lot and if he don't like discards them.

I think snow patrol.. is quite new.. i know taht they have 3 or 4 albums.. (can't remember now how many) but it took to them a little bit of time more than Coldplay..

 

maybe in five years time snow patrol will eclipse Coldplay, in numbers of fans or stuff.. but in five years time.. Coldplay will be a bigger band too..

and i think that Chris shouldn't compared with them..

THEY'RE COLDPLAY AND JUST COLDPLAY..

IF radiohead is better or worst... that doesn't matter..

they're just Coldplay and they're unique

I got this feeling....after this new album we are lucky if the 5th will see the light of the day.

Soon or late chris will make music alone
