James Blunt ripped off The Scientist...I think

Featured Replies

I heard James Blunts new song "Same Mistake" on the radio the other day and i was shocked at how similar it was to the scientist. It sounds like hes using the same oooo's at the end of the scientist that chris uses through out his whole song. I dont know kind of interesting to me.I think the scientist is a well known song even if u dont know or like coldplay.I think the oooo's at the end is what a lot of people remember if they really arent into coldplay. So i dont know kind of interesting. What do you guys think?

I agree with both of you.

Then there's that Sum 41 song I can't remember the name of it offhand, but you can sing The Scientist exactly to it. I think someone even did a mash-up.

Chris Martin should sue James Blunt :shocked2:

I almost threw my tv out teh window when I saw them playing that song live. Better Off On My Own was the name of it I think. Complete ripoff.

it's actually from U2 not from coldplay as briggins says, he started with that oooh since he covered in a little while by U2 so I think Bono should sue him hahah no, just kidding I like james blunt, I don't think that's such big deal since he's covered the song legally but I don't know

Hmmm, James Blunt is a cunt, but if Chris Martin were to sue him, he should be sued by Thom Yorke for stealing High and Dry.:laugh4:

i already saw the video. i dont like it. it seems like the same as the scientist video. and about ~ooooooh voice, its quite same as chris sang in their song too.

this reminds me nothing of the scientist....lol

your not the only one...

your not the only one...

me neither people..

just a few "oooh oh" doesn't mean that he's ripping off The Scientist.

if it is like that....

somebody remember that thing that someone made once.. there was a wolf and it seems that the wolf sounded like Chris.. with "oohh oh" form the scientist..?

Well, Then we should sued that wolf too..

:laugh4:

Are you guys who think this sounds like the scientist talking about the guitar rhythm or what?

no. it's called Pieces.

your not the only one...

How did Chis steal radioheads high and dry????:dozey:

^ yes, good question. i think that "high and dry" is the most coldplay-ish radiohead song, but i dont think coldplay does a rip-off of it anywhere. or of anything else radiohead has done. besides one or two little things, the comparisons between radiohead and coldplay baffle me.

I do admit that Coldplay obviously gets its influence from Radiohead but im just not sure how you are associating "High And Dry?" with Coldplay. I dont think i have heard a Coldplay song that sounds similar to it.

I agree with both of you.

Pieces?

You're right. The "Oooo" parts are obviously ripped, or at least inspired by it. And damn, the guy has an annoying voice.

But Coldplay has been just as bad in that respect. The tune of "Talk" is just as ripped from "Computer Love" of Kraftwerk.

i dont think you can use the term "ripped" for that. they got explicit permission, credited their source, and turned it into something quite different from the original despite using the guitar riff. they get big points in my book for doing it the way that they did ;). even if i do think that the demo-ed lyrics were better.

yeah!

Chrias said it once in an interview..

he "wrote" a letter that said

"Hi my name is Chris Martin i have a band called Coldplay.."

:laugh4: and he told him that they wanted their ...song.. well not the whole song just the music i don't know

I'm tired i don't want to think :P
