if you look at the main page of coldplaying.com on the news section there is an article from december 13, of coldplays new album they say that they already have made plans to tour in 2008 for the new cd which is going to come out in febuary and the cd is going to be called "prospekts march" which sounds terrible its from the daily star news paper i wonder if there is any truth to this and where are they getting this info from !and why no single yet??!!

nah I don't think so, on the official site they said they were mixing the records so I think until march, nevertheless the name prospekt is quite possible

yeah, im personally thinking march at the earliest. theyre still mixing, which takes a while, and then theyve got to PRODUCE the damn things (like, actually CREATE the physical CDs in a factory and all the artwork etc etc, which would take like a month at least i would think).

 

and in america, albums and DVDs are almost ALWAYS released on a tuesday pretty much without exception (in my experience, anyway), just as movies are usually released on a friday. so that kind of rules out chris's birthday. i dont really think theyd do that anyway, even if it would be cute.

 

totally sudden, random thought: if it is actually going to be out probably between march and august sometime, do you think theyre getting ready to film the first music video?? i bet so.

i don't mind when the album's gonna be released.

Yeah, we found out when X&Y was delayed how important Coldplay are to EMI so I wouldn't be suprised if the release date is dictated at least partially by how EMI are doing financially. If the financial year 2007/08 has been bad for them they might want it out before April to make things look a bit better. If they're doing ok, then there might be a bit less pressure on the guys to get it out quickly.

 

I dunno really, just guessing, I hope its soon though; I don't think I can stand it much longer, all I want is a date or a few seconds of music...oh well!

What just is EMI's financial year?

Hope they finish up their contract with the EMI Corporate Pigs and get back their self control soon... like alot of other musical artists have done. What do they have a 5 album deal, just do a greatest hits and get it over with already.

i'm of the same mind, as much as i hate to admit it. i figure if it's going to be feb/march, we would have more info right now than we have. i'm not giving up all hope, though. i don't think there's a law saying when they have to give info to the public, so maybe theyre just being...really secretive? (and tortuing the crap out of me in the process).

 

anybody know about when they told us the name and release date of X&Y? i know the date was pushed back and all, but perhaps it would be helpful to know when they first told us about it?

Well, if it's been in the mixing stages already for about a month... I'm no genius when it comes to understanding time lengths for mixing and distributing, but I'm assuming that it takes about 4-6 months to fully finalize it and distribute it. I just can't imagine it taking longer than that... seems almost absurd, as the actual songs are written and recorded.

 

By this point, if we assume that mixing started around the first week of December... I think it's fair to assume we'll get the album in the March-June time period. Personally, I'd expect the album date to be announced around March, maybe February if we're lucky.
