I love this time of the album making process.Rumors are all over the place about the new album.Title tracks are being talked about as well as the album title.When are we going to hear a single and video.They are certainly going to be touring again this year. And just the anticipation of the new album being released...man 2008 is going to be a great year for coldplay and coldplay fans!!

I just wonder how people will react when we actually get some concrete info...we're so used to rumors and tidbits of info that could all be fake. I just hope they'll be no "I told you so" crap...

i think i recall Speed of Sound coming out in April - X&Y was released in july, no?

^speed of sound was put on UK radio in april, but the single didnt come out until may, i'm pretty sure, along with the music video. and X&Y came out in early june, so really the single only came out about 2 weeks before the album!

i wonder if theyre going to do it this way again, or if this schedule is pretty standard when it comes to releasing singles and records.

SOS was first released on 23/5/05 but first heard on here on 18/4/05 (see thread), but I think there was a live secret gig that aired it before that. Can't remember what that date was though.

Sorry. I meant June not July (I believe it was June the 5th here). I'm getting confused with a live date of when I saw them. But nevertheless. We heard SOS earlier on the Coldplayer. I'm hoping they'll do the same this time round. Ah well, we'll see. It's gonna be out sooner or later anyway. I'm just hoping sooner.

They're designing the live show and finalising the artwork. Plus they need to dream up and shoot a new video, not to mention the families the boys have to look after in between (Jonny especially)

The more "little" news I get the more anxious I am. Lets get a single goin at least!

if we dont get news this month, i'm going to be very VERY sad. i had a "feeling" that we'd get concrete news in december, and look how that turned out :rolleyes:. I'm so anxious now that i seem to be almost going round the bend and becoming less frantic and ready to tear out my hair. thats a sure sign its taking too long :P

 

i know theyve got stuff left to do, but really, shouldnt they have at least a ballpark date picked out by now? i would think that they should have a PRECISE date picked out if theyre done with the music aspect of it all! so why cant they just TELL US and end our suffering?! if its going to be nex december i dont really mind, as long as i know like NOW so i can count down to it!

hahaha!! imagine if theyre like, "sorry. we've realised we're just not playing like a band, we're gonna scrap all our music and start again!!"

All I need is something like "Definately early March" or "We're calling it either this or this" even if it isn't totally concrete, I'll take it in and believe it.

Chris Martin, the sour-faced 'Spider from Coronation Street' lookalike who has been bothering our ears for many years as singer of Coldplay has been speaking to Q magazine, which sounds like a marriage made in dull muso heaven. Thrillingly, he revealed that he feels under pressure to create another hit album, so enlisted the services of a hypnotist to help with the recording process, though perhaps a songwriter or someone passing with a bag full of jolly tunes might have been a better bet.

 

It was always pretty obvious that he was under some sort of mind control, having named his children 'Apple' and 'Moses' and now we know for sure that it was an evil hypnotist who made him do such things. Anyway, evil or not, the hypnotist helped shape new album 'Prospekt' into the shimmering wave of beige that it is sure to be.

 

"We feel like we have so much to prove and so many ideas that we'd like to try - sometimes you need a hypnotist to give you the bravery to do it," said Chris sagely, propping his ego against a retaining wall for safety, "It was fun and interesting and we wrote some nice things as a result of it."

 

Nice things. I'll bet. Superb plan, though. Now all Chris needs is an army of hypnotists across the globe to convince all right thinking people to buy the melancholic dirge.
