January 22, 200818 yr Muse and The Verve will headline this year's V Festival, according to reports. The two bands will head up the main stage while The Prodigy and Kaiser Chiefs top the bill on the second stage, reports Drownedinsound.com. But VF has heard whispers that Coldplay could be lined up for a shock headline performance at V Festival, which could mean the band sharing headline duties, as has been done in the past. The Verve have just been confirmed to headline Coachella in California and are also being tipped to play Glastonbury, as are Muse. Coldplay have played down any suggestions they will be performing live this summer but a big money deal could persuade them. Other acts rumoured for V Festival include Goldfrapp, Maximo Park, Duffy, The Dead 60s, Adele, The View, The Twang and Pigeon Detectives. Confirmed line up news and ticket sales will be announced in late February or early March. V Festival takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffs, on 16-17 August. http://www.virtualfestivals.com/latest/news/4287

February 17, 200818 yr Coldplay have played down any suggestions they will be performing live this summer but a big money deal could persuade them. Could it really ??
February 17, 200818 yr im so sick of hearing this "non confirmed" shit well I guess all I can say is go for it CP!
February 17, 200818 yr Muse playing already makes me want to plan a summer trip to Europe--but Coldplay too? SHIT.
February 17, 200818 yr im so sick of hearing this "non confirmed" shit well I guess all I can say is go for it CP! So true. Recently it's as if Coldplay are deliberately being super enigmatic just for the sake of it. And it just annoys the hell out of me. I'd prefer it if they'd just come out and admit that they won't headline this festival, rather than just not say anything at all. It's like they're depriving us of any tangible Coldplay relate news. I could carry on and start complaining that this time last year I would have never even suspected that we would still be waiting for any official news on the album's release date or title in Februrary 2008, but it would be pointless. Sorry but I needed a small rant. EDIT: I know some of what I've said isn't exactly fair on them, I'm just in one of those moods, you know.
February 17, 200818 yr this really doesn't affect me, because i'm not going to be at this festival, but i guess it means good youtube videos so i hope they do it!
March 5, 200818 yr Coldplay V Festival Confirmed!!!! One Republic have just slipped up on radio1 and said Coldplay will be playing V Festival this year. Get In!!!!!!!!!!
March 5, 200818 yr When did they say that and I need some PROOF!! I wanna make sure. This would be great.
March 5, 200818 yr Coldplay V Festival Confirmed!!!! If you listen to Jo Wileys Show today wednesday. She asked them after there live lounge performance ' So you playing any festivals this' in which they replied 'Yea were doing the one with muse and coldplay headlining, erm... V festival' in which Jo replied 'I think we have a scoop there'
March 5, 200818 yr Er, Muse and the Verve are doing it. It's confirmed already, check the V2008 website.
March 5, 200818 yr so basically as V festival is only 2 days, and Coldplay do play it, then they will basically come on after the Verve? i.e. the Verve isnt headlining..?
March 5, 200818 yr I don't think V Festival have a licence to put bands on past a certain point in the the night so it'd be pretty hard to squeeze CP in after the Verve who, after all, are headlining.
March 5, 200818 yr Perhaps The Verve aren't the actual headliners and Coldplay are coming to V as headliners as a surprise. Looking at the other day it makes sense because Stereophonics are as big as Verve so both of them can play before the headliners.

Looking at the other day it makes sense because Stereophonics are as big as Verve so both of them can play before the headliners. OK. That's not very likely to happen because, as headliners, the Verve are likely to have quite a lot of fans at V, people who have shelled out over £100 for the festival based on the bands advertised. I doubt people would be very happy if CP turned up instead of the Verve. Anyway, Stereophonics aren't as big as the Verve now. Not at all.
