I'm assuming this isn't new... but Coldplay were guests on their first episode, so they're airing their first episode again? O.o

Or wait--Sarah Silverman wasn't a guest on their first ep......... so this is new?!

What the heck?

O.o

i really dont think this is new for a number of reasons, even though the website is making it sound like it is. for one, its the writers strike, so almost ALL shows besides leno, conan, and stewart and colbert are reruns. for two, why the hell would coldplay be a guest now?! and for three, theyre apparently in london currently anyway, and this is a live show.

if i wasnt sharing a room and a TV i'd tune in anyway, but i dont think its terribly worth it if its not new. but if it WAS new, i'd insist, of course :D

it's his 5th anniversary and it will not be an old "episode"

My TV Guide says Kimmel is new tonight, and it doesn't mention Coldplay. Who knows if they're on or not, lol.

It's probably a 'highlight' or 'clip' show then. Always a good stand-by during writer's strike.

Of course it would be a really cool and unpredictable way to debut a new song and announce the album. Who'd expect that? Normally they do a press conferrence or 'Buzz tour' before a release.

Uh-Oh...Please don't explode, Chelsea! Pleeeeease!!:lol::lol:

hmm...i'm getting kind of suspicious. this IS his 5th anneversary--i wiki'ed it, and the show premiered on jan 36, 2003. but coldplay?! the site definitely says theyll be the musical guests...but WHY are they the musical guests? i hope thats not a typo or error on their part.

i know this is probably not the case, but what if coldplay are going on the jimmy kimmel show tonight and premiering new music and giving us the Information that way?! because if theyre actually on the show tonight (and its not just a recording of them the first time they played it as a nostalgic thing), i cant really see them playing "fix you" or something. why would they play something old??

despite the fact that i'm probably very wrong about all this, i have a twinge of hope and excitement in my stomach nonetheless. though i'll probably have to wait until tomorrow when the epsisode is posted online to find out what actually went down concerning coldplay. and its probably not what i'm expecting.

and you know i'm quite likely to explode when it's LP4 we're talking about, tracie! :laugh1:

^I can already smell the smoke! That's ok, I think I'm bordering on explosion too. So much for my cool, calm exteriro, lol.

The 36th of January??;)

What time does this air? Has anyone got access to this channel?

Either way, I think its almost INSANE for them to reveal album news or a new song this way. Its just so farfetched.

www.nbc.com[/url], but I'm not sure.

Ok thanks, I'm thinking this will be recycled material personally... it must be

Maybe they'll perform a new track and then tomorrow on CP.com they'll have a new 2008 video of them on JK with a note like "this is us last night...". That'd be cool.

UGH! Sorry...3 hours sleep! It's on ABC, not NBC!

Bah, never mind... 3 hours sleep? How did you manage that?

Interesting...the late night shows have been new the past couple of weeks. They are all airing without the writers and have had new guests on.But im not sure about this one.It does say new episode on my tv infor guide for tonight but thats it.No mention of who is a guest or performing.I will be watchin for sure just to make sure.If anything i get to see and old performance clip of coldplay when they performed on the show.I dont want to get my hopes up but just what if....haha

i live right here in L.A im going to watch the show ill tell you guys what happens , if its an old episode or they drop new music!! i cant wait:cool:

It's probably a clip. I recorded it last night because they were showing a cut scene from the new lost epi on it, and they've been showing clips of old sequences- sort of a series of 'best of' moments I guess... last night they showed the one where Jimmy went to Hawaii to talk to the Lost cast.

All the same, I'm setting the DVR for whatever it is.

Well it is JK's fifth anniversary show and they are in New York (the last anyone heard) mixing the record so maybe...

That can't be right. They probably wouldn't debut any new stuff on some late show that airs in the US (it's just here, right? I'm probably wrong. I'm always wrong.) anyway.

All it says on my guide is Sarah Silverman. She's stupid.

I'll watch it tonight.

There's a new thread on this forum basically saying CP are definately on the show.

Mmkay.

I hope it's nothing new; I'd feel weird. Dunno why.

I'm so glad we don't have school tomorrow because of this storm.

ahh, 26th!! i meant the 26th!! :drunk: :laugh1:

yeah, my brain says itll just be a clip of them performing on the first show or whatever, especially now that mo said theyve been doing clips a lot recently. theyll probably show the clip from their last performance and remark on how young they looked or whatever.

but i still cant supress a very tiny spark of hope over a live performance of new material. even though i dont think coldplay would reveal a new song or the Information on a US late-night show that doesnt have a whole lot of viewers (at least probably not as much as leno or conan, right?). it's not like them, and i doubt very many mainstream artists would choose the jimmy kimmel show to make some big announcement.

OK, there is "a very special, unforgettable surprise for the show's 5th anniversary". Doesn't sound like an old clip to me.

^dAmn! I just resigned myself to a clip. Now you've got my hopes up again!!

I WANT TO BELIEVE!!!

Oh God. Why do they mess with our emotions like this? :bomb:
