Valentine Day's gift tips please

Featured Replies

Hey there you people, you know Valentine is coming and I'd love to hear (read actually) some advises, tips, experiences for a gift for my girlfriend, she's my first girlfriend and it's our first valentine and bsides I'm not good for gifts so as I say: if you have a doubt ask in coldplaying. :D it's just that you always find an answer here, so any sugestion will be well recieved, just try not to say simply flowers, chocolates and teddybears (I've already used the 2 first but Id like to give her something a lil more original or at least with a touch of something more special if you know any trick or something).

thanks

I think the most important part is not even the present really. If you give her a good note or a card and any present it should be ok. But it also depends on the relationship. How long have you been with her?

Sometimes a sweet gesture means a lot more than a present so i think I'd pick up my guitar and sing her a song

I've just seen a face,

I can't forget the time or place

Where we just met.

She's just the girl for me

And I want all the world to see

We've met, mmm-mmm-mmm-m'mmm-mmm.

Had it been another day

I might have looked the other way

And I'd have never been aware.

But as it is I'll dream of her

Tonight, di-di-di-di'n'di.

Falling, yes I am falling,

And she keeps calling

Me back again.

I have never known

The like of this, I've been alone

And I have missed things

And kept out of sight

But other girls were never quite

Like this, di-di-di-di'n'di.

Falling, yes I am falling,

And she keeps calling

Me back again.

I love that song is so...

country :wacky:

hahaha yup

I'd sing it the way Jim Sturgess does, its more happy and less country but i love the original a lot anyway haha

*sings*

 I'm in love with that movie too :bigcry:

anyway.. I don't really have anything interesting to say in this thread :P

aww same here! Wish my friends were beatle maniacs cos i really really really loved every single bit of that movie haha ( maybe cos it was full of beatles songs but hey haha)

Lets sing more love songs!

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you,

Tomorrow I'll miss you;

Remember I'll always be true.

And then while I'm away,

I'll write home every day,

And I'll send all my loving to you.

sing the song that adam sandler sings in the wedding singer! thats all i got for you. Valentines day is a stupid holiday

^Yeah..Valentine's day is totally overrated. if you're with somebody why does there only have to be one day to celebrate it? and if you're not with somebody at valentines day it just makes some people feel like crap.

If you can't sing.... maybe give a CD of a band you like or something. I gave the guy I was going with OK Computer last year ... (he hated it, but that's beside the point and only cause he was a jerk) (I dumped him) But my boyfriend after that got into Radiohead cause I gave him OKC :smug:

random but... I've got that song as ringtone!

If you have to wait until valentine's day to buy her a gift, then your not a very good boyfriend, as you should be buying her stuff all year round, not just for Valentine's day

Really? that's cool! mine was smoke on the water but i just changed it to i've just seen a face haha

I have some good ideas. But I've never had a girlfriend so I'm not going to share them...

well I've given her cards, chocolates you know and I know exactly that it isn't about gifts but valentine's day is besides the day we've been together for 2 months so I really wanna give her something and I try to do good bsides cause my best friend is like very into this and he will get a a good present for her girlfriend who is mine's best friend so you know, I don't wanna look like lesser 8I'm not very good saying this in english), I know I shouldn't feel like these but I really wanna get her something.

PD: I'd love to sing her something but I am a terrible singer and I hate that cause music is my life

as said, i don't like valentine. when i was single, i just thought that i was crap because i didn't have a boyfriend. and now, when i'm dating someone, it's much much worse, cause i feel like i should buy something, but i probably won't. i don't like the idea that one day, everyone who's in love must buy something, it's just so... commercial and stuff. i don't like the holiday.

but, if you really feel that you should do something special that day, i think that some gesture would be fine. i mean, invite her somewhere, prepare some picnic and stuff, enjoy the moment that you're together, and maybe, give her something little, it can be a book by her favourite author or something like that. i know i'm crap in thinking of gifts, but i think this would be just fine. i think you should give her something... personal.

Next year, Valentine's day will be bigger than normal, as I believe it falls on a Saturday.

I don't like that day

Im not over keen on the day myself, as has been said its all to comerical etc.

But if your thinking of something special, one i have thought of myself is hot air ballon flights, can be a bit pricy so you have to look around but the sunrise flights can be very romantic :D

mmm ok keep talking, you've made me think bout all this and I'm thinking but it just doesn't come to me, I'm trying to find a nice gesture, something not that big but something she can keep to remember our first (hopefully not the only one) valentines day, something just to remember me.

my idea was maybe a (I don't know how you call these things) teddy bear or some other character or animal, don't know the names of these, the flowers are for sure and with a heart shaped card that says "Happy Valentines Day Vane" on the front and a little message on the back, I'm not sure if handwritten yet or printed but the first thing is the last option if I don't find another

Good idea but maybe you can created soemthing a bit mroe personal like maybe write her a song even thought you cant sing, it would be a very sweet gesture or maybe a poem? Or you can always take her to a roof and lay down next to her as you listen chasing cars by snow patrol and look at the stars then you tell her you luff her

A vibrator... a big black one... with a bendy end...

A vibrator... a big black one... with a bendy end...

That's so romantic

I think i'm gonna give Rolly that present for valentine
