Easter Weekend

Featured Replies

So anybody got any wicked plans for Easter Weekend?

And before someone like MrCool comes along, yes I know these days Easter is mainly for commercial gain and not religious (hence why the date changes by 2/3 weeks every year), but it's a 4-day weekend, 2 free days away from work, and for that case it must be celebrated.

So anybody got any plans for Easter?

Eating eggs?

Getting drunk?

Blowing up stuff?

gah, not much. it'll be a weekend like any other. i'll only go to my appartment later and on sunday i'll probably get up a bit earlier to watch urbi et orbi.

I wonder how many shops will dare open up on Sunday, one of the so called "dead" days for shopping (the others being Christmas day and New-year's day)

hehe well we'll see....on friday I definitely won't drink, because I am a believing christian...but well I don't know what I'll plan for saturday...

but I'm definitely going to eat eggs and going to eat too much...:bigcry:

The best way is to try and hold off eating eggs on Sunday, and wait until Monday.

If Germany is like England, by Monday all the Easter Eggs will be for sale at really knock-down prices as supermarkets try to get rid of the stock to put some summer stuff.

I'll be watching Jesus Christ Superstar at some point - regardless of whether or not you are religious, this is an amazing musical with some of the best songs, lyrics, music, bass lines and guitars you'll ever hear.

I'm genuinely fascinated by the Easter story, and although I have recently lost my faith for various reasons, the message of Easter and Jesus' suffering and the sacrifice he made is truly inspiring to me and really gets me thinking.

I would like it if it involved getting drunk and chocolate :nice:

hmmm ... do people actually celebrate it by getting drunk? hm

they were quite cheap until recently though, probably not anymore. you just just need to get them early or as you said after easter.

i dont really have any plans. we'll probably spend the day watching football. and we'll get drunk and eat easter eggs too.

Eat a bunch of those Cadbury Creme Eggs and then throw them up, eat some more, drink a lot of milk, and forget that Jesus is the reason for the season.

EDIT: By the way, I just read that American Creme Eggs are smaller than they used to be! I feel so cheated! I'll have to go to frickin' England to buy a real egg! Aggh! I don't want some wussy hummingbird egg, I want a chicken egg, dammit!

i'll just be at uni...:bigcry:

it's just that easter is a HUGE deal in my family (or at least it used to be) with close to a hundred people and all sorts of food etc. now even with me there, easter would be very very small (15 or so is small for us) and i guess it would just make me a bit sad remembering how it used to be anyway. but easter is always one of my favorite holidays, and i'll be sad to just be here doing nothing special but freaking schoolwork.

Eat choco eggs!

And go to my friend's birthday party :nice: and just relax

I'll be working during the weekend...

but on sunday I'll stuff myself with wine, delicous food and chocolate eggs!!!

:smug:

Making homework..:(

And going out and get drunk!!

I'm looking forward to seeing my nieces :D

Some people don't need a reason to get drunk.

Not for when you can't drink alcohol :(

Although I have my plans made up, Wednesday I'm going to be in bed, Thursday shopping, Friday to Sunday in bed and Monday shopping.

you're right. but it kinda sucks if you say you'll get drunk because it's St. ____ day.

Last year was worst as St. Paddy's day fell on a Saturday.

Think of the poor ambulance crews having to deal with drunken idiots who need to be taken to hospital for a stomach pump.
