April 29, 200818 yr Because its the first single, its probably going to be near the beggining, because they want to get the concert up and running with a song people are already familiar with. Thats my opinion. Something tells me it could also make an unconventional, but an absolute belter of a CLOSER, though (crazy idea, I know). But I suppose I can't really say, because I havn't heard any of the tracks yet.
April 29, 200818 yr hard to say, yeah, without hearing the whole album and all the songs that they'll have to choose from in the set list, but i think this is a good contender for the opener. then "square one," then "politik." (assuming they're keeping both of those, of course)
April 29, 200818 yr Yeah. Like I said in another thread, I'm sure they'll open with this one like they did with Square 1 on the last tour.

April 29, 200818 yr Violet Hill Yellow Clocks Encore Violet Hill Clocks/Speed of Sound Yellow haha so i take it your a fan of violet hill? goooood!
April 29, 200818 yr hard to say, yeah, without hearing the whole album and all the songs that they'll have to choose from in the set list, but i think this is a good contender for the opener. then "square one," then "politik." (assuming they're keeping both of those, of course) i think square one can dissapear - but politik can't - it's so damn good and an excellente song for a concert!!!
April 29, 200818 yr The end of Violet Hill, with it being so calm and gentle, would allow for smooth transition into Square One which is imo a song they should NEVER drop from a setlist, fucking AMAZING opener!
April 29, 200818 yr haha so i take it your a fan of violet hill? goooood! After 4 listens I'm still undecided.
April 29, 200818 yr I do hope they change the setlist. I would like it if it was the whole of VLV and 2 or 3 songs from previouse albums (excluding XY). They can juggle that setlist up however they wish!!
April 29, 200818 yr After 4 listens I'm still undecided. THat's a good thing. At least it's not an instant dislike :D
April 29, 200818 yr I personally think that they will open with Life In Technicolor Square One Politik The square one/politik combination is a proven succes, and since Life In Technicolor is meant to be an instrumental I think that it would be great to come out onto the stage too (I know we haven't heard it yet but this is all speculation) before crossing over into Square One! Violet Hill I think would be great in an encore with something like: In My Place Violet Hill Fix You or if they wanted to change it up a bit more: [1] Life In Technicolor [2] Square One rest of set [E1] Politik [E2] Violet Hill [E3] Fix You
April 29, 200818 yr ok just how sure are we that life in technicolor is completely instrumental... i really hope its not
April 29, 200818 yr I expect the live show is going to be very different and probably be better than the album, they did say it was geared more towards the live show, and I'm sure it will be far more than the twisted logic tour + a bunch of tracks off viva la vida. I wouldn't be surprised if they scrapped they're previous concert formula and built up this show from scratch, into something we could never anticipate.
April 29, 200818 yr I also think that while politik is a fan fave, square one is gone, it was only really appropriate for the twisted logic tour, and three intro songs is a little absurd.
April 29, 200818 yr yea politik is one of their best live songs IMO. i hope they dont drop it. but i actuallly have really become attatched to the live version of square one. but i cant really see it being used anywhere in a setlist except as an opener and i don't think theyd use the same opener in back to back tours so id have to agree that it's gone.
April 30, 200818 yr obviously i'll have to listen to the rest of the new songs they give us either from the album or b-sides, but at this point i could see it either as an opener for the concert or for the encore. to me it sounds like a good opener
May 6, 200818 yr Like everyone else, I'm thinking opener. The beginning of the song really clinches the 'opener' spot, for me. If you guys watch the Live 2003 DVD, the sound right before Politik hits is really similar, the way it builds. I think that it's the best way to start a concert, with that sound just coming in, and then instead of the drums from Politik (though Politik should definately definately be played later on), we get Chris singing about a long and dark December, you know? haha, well, that's how I would do it. But then...I'm just a lame fruitcake sitting at home in Canada.
May 6, 200818 yr Oh, and I find it very strange that you guys are looking at the encore right now. Of course, all of this is speculation, I know, it's just. I think that Fix You will definately be in there, but I'm SURE, as in, ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE, that the last song played will be off the new album. Guess? sure. How about this: Reign of Love. That sounds right.
