the.hardest.part
Prince William. Right. :freak: Uh... so why of all the princes is the cute one the antichrist again? You know what never mind. You just lost the right to ever have me listen to a single word you say again- this thread makes my head hurt too much. And they're spelled guillotine and Napoleon, for the record. Oh, and the past tense of to happen is happened. For anyone who isn't familiar with the feature, if someone is annoying you or making you upset, you can always add them to your ignore list so you never have to see their posts again. It's very useful. :) Where might one find this button? I think I may need to use it for him as well =]

chuck kottke
The artwork is nice - I've always found that painting to be beautiful, even though the revolution went from good to bad in France back then. It evokes the spirit of people rising up to proclaim their freedom over the monarchy's forces, being led by a beautiful, bare-chested French lady-liberty! (and who can argue against that!:wink3::P).. It's about declaring justice against oppression - for the common people, and for shared values. It evokes strong emotions, and shows a sense of determination. I think they chose well!:):hat:

jacek2015
if that painting was presenting a fictional event - ok. but when this painting is connected with such a bad revolution, it is obvious that you could ask: why then putting on it a title viva la vida ?? fortunately there are still some books, articles etc. where you can read a true facts about this anti-french revolution - facts, not only a hopeful declarations. Darlene_Ihnfsa
im not liking the whole french revolution theme of coldplay beacuse of what happen during the so called "revolution" your history books wont tell you the truth of what really happen the people who started the French revolution were really not revolutionaries at all!! if i was living at that time i would have been an ANIT-REVOLUTIONARY ! hundreds of thousands of people were guotined for nothing more than speaking out against the blood shed, and the government!! the supposed food shortage that caused the war is BULLSSH!t it wasnt the kings fault the food shortage happen , it was men in high places with much power im not a conspricacy theorist but the truth is that the Freemason created the artifical food shortage in order to take control of the country and take the king out of power! after the "revolutionaries" took away the peoples rights! the same rights the revolution was fought for!!!! !they ended up with less rights then before less of a voice then before !! they siad it had to be done to presevre the Order! so they in a sense declared martial law for a while ,If people spoke against little things like the high food prices they were guotined! in the end Nepolean became king so they ended exactly where they started but this time with a tyranical king!! neopolean is one of the worse people to ever live right behind hitler, the pope, any pope really!!!and prince william!!!! oh yeah stalin too and mao ,ok im done!! which books do you have there? I know that... :dozey: (although our stupid teacher was a pro-french rev... we always ended discussing with him). just you have to check how 'fake' was this revolution (it was an step forward really more than what they said to be bring better things it was a nightmare to be in those time i think) the two main genious of arts of that time were both affected by this, they couldn't believe that after saying and bringing all the hope, then Napoleaon did the same as he was critizising... (Beethoven and Goya), in Spain, they destroyed many many places just for fun, luckily we banned them, but it took us 4 years (we are on teh anniversary now), (my History teacher used to say that due to our fear that they will invide us again (yes they invided us thanks that we had some stupid kings at that time here :dozey:), we didn't want to have trains and nor with the normal rails.. :uhoh: imo all revolutions are like that one: the leader has an idea, convince the people, people follow him by heart, but the ego of the leader grows as much as he become another dictator. If any of you think that Napoleaon was a democracy man, he wasn't, he just did one election, that allowed him to have his charge until he dies (that is typical of Dictators). and don't get scared about that they killed people for no reason, all dictorships do the same, there were some revolutions where people was killed just because they were wearing glasses (Khemer Rev.), or even 'wrost', there has been many revolutions that ended with riots on streets and people destroying many historical sites (i'm refering to Chinese Red Revolution) about recent ones (although them are wars) there's the Buddah of Afganistan that Bin Laden destroyed, and seems that nobody mind or remember it, and Bagdad museum was stolen once the americans got to the city. (i find it so bad, History is all us, is our background, like it or not, there could be things about our History that we don't agree with but as someone said: 'those who forget their History are sentenced to repeat it). still i think that there are many things like that that happen in the world and that we never will know about, very bad. (there are countries that i know nothing, seems they never have news to tell to the world.... very strange don't you think?)
Lowley
nazi you would have a point if the front cover was a nazi swastika and they were dressed as nazis... how you can say that about william i dont know. anyway your taking this much to seriously
