VLV is a fantastic song. i have to say i was disappointed with a spell a rebel yell but this song totally makes up for it!

I like this song so much! It's new, of course, not very Coldplay like, but hell!, thats why it is so awesome, it's a completely other direction of their music style.

I listened to VLV yesterday, couldn't quite get my head around it although it sounded nice, listened today, and all of a sudden got this picture from the lyrics of a Napoleon clone pushing a broom on some street and talking about how he was happy anyway.

 

Then I listened to VH again, because I hadn't in a bit and all of a sudden the context seemed different, I just got the song in a different way. Huge images. Epic.

 

I think they're right, this album is going to be like a movie with a whole internal story, and if just two songs playing off each other can bring it to life this much, I can't wait to hear the rest of the story.

Violet Hill was made ten times better when it follows VLV. Suddenly the context is there. It's like "The Prince and the Pauper"... a single song, two acts of a play. Awesome.

Moral of this story is ALWAYS LISTEN TO US!!!

i agree, with Violet Hill and ASARY, nothing was hitting me, and i wasnt too sure about the new album. but this song is amazing. its in a very "grand" style kind of like "things i dont understand". i dont think it sounds very coldplay-ish. i cant pick out the other members of the band (cuz of al the orchestra) but it is a very beautiful song and chris sings it so well. is so different from violet hill. VH is quite depressing compared to this lovely song.
