UK Tour 2008

Featured Replies

Ok.

So far, the free Brixton gig and the gig in Liverpool?

I am getting so impatient!

Allllll the American and Canadian dates - so unfair :P Just kidding, you guys are so lucky :D

I can't find where it says when UK dates will be announced...so I know when to sit glued to my computer!

Can anyone help me!

:P

They better come to Northern Ireland.

OR even Dublin!

C'monnnnnnnnnn....Belfast is calling you guys!!

Or else I will have to steal a boat and do a Thelma and Louise and go to 'the mainland' :stunned:

Lol I'm getting impatient too, they're a British band yet pleasing all the Americans first.

I'm insanely jealous.

I heard they're doing a 12 day tour before Christmas in the UK. Don't know where though.

:laugh4: Ahhh Beth, I'm so glad someone feels the same way!

They seem to have forgotten us :(

Christmas would suit me nicely.... let's keep this thread alive and if anyone gets a sniff of a UK date.... post post POST!

:D

So it used to be standard practice, if you had winter dates in the UK you would release/promote the dates/venues around late june to august to coincide with the festival season there. I think you will hear more news around Glastonbury time-late june!

ooh I saw them in a park in Glasgow in 2005... i forget the name of it?

it was an AMAZING concert, number 4 for me :D

just thinking about when they played fix you still gives me goosebumps... the fireworks and everything... gah! brilliant

were you there? :surprised:

They better not start selling tickets the weekend of Glastonbury :(

I wouldn't be happy

nah i wasnt......i wish i was lol :D......i just really hope they play either edinburgh or glasgow.....but glasgow seems like the more likely option....no place big enough to contain their stardom here in edinburgh lol :D

Like your back garden?

Now THERE'S your concert :D

That would be good, but if they could come a bit more west.

The Rose Bowl is a good place for concerts

My back garden is big enough, just big enough in fact for me and 4 other people! How about that! :sneaky:

Brighton eh, sure you don't mean the Bright.. lights of Belfast? :P

That's exactly how I feel, not trying to sound silly, but without us United Kingdom folk they'd be nowhere...

If they play Birmingham I will be the first person flying through those doors! :laugh3: I really hope they do have a little tour for us this year, I wish they'd do some smaller venues aswell... :)

I don't think you should feel snuubed by coldplay playing the US first. It is not possible to have summer dates for a major tour in the UK because most people are saving themselves for the big music festivals.

Summer tours of the US just make more sense fiancially. The winter christmas shows will be really awesome and worth the wait!!

I dearly hope they're not already tired of touring by the time they return to our shores like last time.

I saw them at the start of the whole tour which was a great gig and inspired set-list, but the shows at Earl's Court and the IOW were identical sets and just no new surprises at all, almost gig-by-numbers. Touring surely should be a balance between quality and quantity, I so hope they get it right this time, but the number of dates announced so far makes me wonder...(sniff)

I think the best hope is to win tickets for Brixton, I'm really pinning everything on that.

The brixton gig does sound awesome....it is the best venue in the whole world-and I live in Las Vegas! Nothing could ever compare to Brixton Academy, I was lucky to see coldplay there a long time ago.

Really? Wow! Why's Brixton so great? I've never been there (to my shame!) but plenty of friends have, and I've never heard such praise, but would love to hear your thoughts.

I've always wanted to visit the legendary MSG and fingers crossed I'll win those tickets (as if!) Folks in the know have compared our newish O2 in Greenwich to that, and having seen Prince there last year all I can say (again!) is WOW :)

Assuming the echo arena hasn't been burned down, December time.

You've absolutely hit the nail on the heaD...

I saw them in Glasgow June 2005 and thenBelfast December 2005, identical setlist and I got the impression that they absolutely didn't care by the time they got to Belfast.

No banter, no witty remarks...

No passion! :laugh4:

They just seemed exhausted and "here goes another one, let's get it over with" :(

Hopefully, though, after a couple of years away they will be raring to go again... :D

:laugh4: I agree.
