May 17, 200818 yr Pink Floyd - Money Thats songs basically a big jam, pure self indulgence with guitars. The fact I actually like such a thing means its the best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_ofFa50LzY
May 17, 200818 yr It's hard to pick one, and I tend to change my opinion on which I think is the best. If I have to choose one right now, it would be Eric Clapton's live version of Layla: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2sfelvHAlU (2:55 - 4:00) The feeling is amazing, the way he bends the strings and his vibratos ... wow!

May 18, 200818 yr No solo has really "wow"ed me as much as Gilmour's solo in "Comfortably Numb". Just something about it, I looked mental one time at a shopping mall, I literally froze up while listening to it and didn't even notice all the people walking around me. It freaks me out... amazing song.
May 19, 200818 yr ^^ couldn't agree with you anymore about comfortably numb whats even more incredible is that its not his only incredible solo, the solo of money is awesome as is the solo on another brick in the wall. Here are some of my faves John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers) - I could Have Lied And Scar Tissue (One of the greatest live moments in rock history.....stunning live improvisation. Mike McCreddy (Pearl Jam)- Alive And Black http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8bkTusHYeQ Slash (Guns n Roses) - November Rain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8ARpGUX1w4 Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)- Dazed and Confused (with violin bow) Angus Young (AC/DC)- Back In Black http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k816dPQyPAM Kirk Hammett (Metallica)- Master of Puppets http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5sXk5tHbqA (also check out James Hetfields solo on Ecstasy of Gold) Mozart himself would've been proud if he composed music like this!! Jack White (The White Stripes)- Ball and Biscuit i have another video of john frusciante and rhcp (yes i am obsesed with the chilis) which i cant find on youtube!!

May 21, 200818 yr Here are some of my fav solos Steve Vai triple neck solo at G3 in Denver This is the best solo I have ever seen in my life by Jake E Lee x.X Slash! Clapton doing his thing :0 Metalica, the end was amazing :smug: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgvllW3UfJ8&feature=related Zakk Wylde Wylde said in a interview that he likes to listen to Coldplay while "mellowing out" on his tour bus. :P This guy creeps me out... I think this guy is the best out of them all!
May 23, 200818 yr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMquGj3aMWE&feature=related O yeah definitely One by Metallica(seeing them in 11 days)
May 23, 200818 yr Author Zakk Wylde Likes Coldplay Yay, Now I like Zakk. Hahahah. Ive heared of him but not listened but I will. Oh my God November Rain is soo fuckin amzing. Takes my breath away. I think htat deserves best solo. hahah, I like the one posted Johnny Greenwoods solo. That was cool!
May 24, 200818 yr yeah steve vai, joe s, and vh are all great technical players... but to me there's to much flash and not enough feeling in their solos. To me, guys like eric clapton, peter frampton, the allman brothers, david gilmour etc really pour their hearts out into their solos. That's what makes a good solo to me, it doesn't necessarily have to be fast, it just should have some feeling to it. Clapton, Frampton, Steve Hacket & Daryl Stuermer (of Genesis), and Mick Taylor are probably my fav guitarists of all time. check these out, Daryl Stuermer playing the solo to Firth of Fifth by Genesis... really powerful stuff (even check out Phil's drums) Clapton, John Lennon, Keith Richards, Mitch Mitchell singing "yer blues"... great clapton solo (and richards looks pretty badass i must say) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLaivdQl9n8 Listen to Mick Taylor's solo iin this live version of "Angie", it really adds emotion to the song. I have the mp3 if anybody wants it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWQBTgOMmIc
