they said that there was a storm in the place where they send the tv stuff to all over the world so that's why the connection wasn't working

I heard it was the same problem in germany! that must've sucked for all those germans watching the game in bars etc..

yep, when it happened the first time it was funny but then it became really annoying  must have been a thunderstorm...

Germany were so lucky again!!

Was Harry Potter working for them?:stunned:

well done Germany. it was really crazy and exciting game... except the losing signal

that was such a heart breaking game... turkey was really fantastic in this gourney. BUT GOD IT PISSED ME OFF SO MUCH WHEN THE SIGNAL WENT OUT. did ANYONE see what was going on in the last 20 minutes?!?

Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

I think I just got 10 years older during this game. Breathtaking......

Everywhere are traffic-jams downtown. One big celebration.

SCHLAND! SCHLAND! SCHLAND!

Wow we reached the final! What an evening, what a night! The atmosphere was just brilliant after the game. I didn't expect it, but the Turks stayed calm and celebrated with the Germans afterwards. I haven't seen any fights. :)

The TV broadcast was a disaster! You can't imagine how nervous I was! :D All tv-channels got their signals from Vienna where a big thunderstorm was responsible for the black-out, except Swiss television. ZDF in Germany was quick on the trigger, because they transfered the pictures of Swiss tv-channel SF2 so nobody missed the 2:1 and 2:2 and the crazy man who ran onto the pitch. :) Well done!

It was a heartbreaking match with ups and downs all the way. Responsible for the Lost! TV Signal was heavy rain in the area of the main broadcasting center. After the game the center of Cologne was a big party with German AND Turkish people! 64.000 out of 1.000.000 Citizens of Cologne are Turkish. I think they were all there ;-)

Millions of fans robbed of crucial action in nail-biting Euro 2008 semi-final as storms knock out TV coverage

Millions of football fans around Europe were left shouting at their television sets last night when a power blackout interrupted TV coverage of a thrilling Euro 2008 semi-final.

The Germany v Turkey clash was midway through the second half with a scoreline of 1-1 when the first of two blackouts, caused by a fierce electrical storm in Vienna, Austria, hit British viewers watching on BBC1.

The BBC screen went red and tantalisingly only the commentary from Radio 5 Live could be heard as Germany scored to make it 2-1.

The storm was so severe officials instructed everyone to leave the FanZone immediately for their own safety

BBC1 host Gary Lineker apologised to viewers, blaming the technical problems on the electrical storm.

The weather was so bad in Vienna that organisers instructed 25,000 supporters watching the game in the outdoor 'FanZone' to leave the area immediately.

Two fans received serious injuries when thousands rushed to escape the thunderstorm. Medics said one of the victims was a woman who suffered back injuries.

Turkish fans watching the game in Britain were left frustrated and angry when the pictures went off.

One fan watching on television at home, Justin Freeman, 38, said: 'I know the BBC could not help there being a storm but it was so annoying that a crucial goal was scored when the pictures went off.'

Germany ended up winning the semi-final 3-2 and will now face either Russia or Spain in the final in Vienna on Sunday.

lol my brother told me, when the coverage was disconnected for like the 3rd time, someone at his uni threw a beer bottle to the front and it went straight through the screen

now, the thing is, it's still in there and nobody is able to get it out... and as the screen is used as blackboard by the profs as well, today they'll have to write around the bottle :laugh3:

 hahaha that's hilarious! But i bet the professors understand why the bottle is there

Woooot!

The German team really drives me nuts. Why couldn't they keep their good playing they showed in the Portugal match?! What was that? I was literally punching the chair I sat on when it was over. Damn, I was angry. :laugh3: They better play a good final to show that they deserve the possible victory.

They HAVE to improve.

Turkey had a lot of luck in their previous games, but they met a team that has even more luck. The German goals looked way better than the Turkish ones though.

FINALE OOOOHHHHHOOOOOHHHH FINALE OOOOOHHHOOOOHHHHHOOOHH

GOOO SPAIN GOOO SPAIN!!

Finally my favourite team is on the way to fictory!! YES YES YES!!!

^Haha, awesome. :D

Germany-Spain I dunno what to say about this, hope the best win...

Though Spain have been the best so far in this cup, they actually deserve winning. ;)

^ annie, annie, annie.

i thought we were friends!

HAHAHAHA. :laugh3:

just kidding.

i mean it's obvious that we're gonna win anyway...
