Coldplay Canada Pre-Sales

The dreaded has occurred.

Yes everyone, today, I received an email from BestBuyRewardZone.ca regarding Coldplay presale tickets.

Here's what it said:

For your chance to get a pre-sale code sign in using your member ID and password and request a code beginning approximately at 8:00am PST on June 5th, 2008 and ending once all codes have been distributed or June 6th at 5pm PST. Pre-sale codes are limited and available first come, first served. Limit of one pre-sale code per customer. Your code will give you the opportunity to buy up to two pre-sale tickets to a Coldplay concert during the 2008 tour (excluding the July 27th concert in Pemberton BC). Pre-sale tickets will go on sale at the following times:

Edmonton July 29th at Rexall Place

Pre-sale starts June 11th at 10am local time

Calgary July 30th at Pengrowth Saddledome

Pre-sale starts June 12th at 10am local time

Winnipeg Aug. 1st at MTS Centre

Pre-sale starts June 12th at 10am local time

Montreal Oct. 20th at Bell Centre

Pre-sale starts June 12th at 10am local time

Ottawa Oct. 21st at Scotiabank Place

Pre-sale starts June 12th at 10am local time

Toronto Oct. 29th and 30th at Air Canada Centre

Pre-sale starts June 12th at 10am local time

Retarded Thing #1: I need three tickets. This apparently only allows two.

Retarded Thing #2: I want fans next to me up front, not people who joined some reward program because the cashier at Best Buy asked them to.

I guess I'm kinda lucky, because when I heard that this happened in the US, I signed up right away, and it was apparently early enough to get a code. Anyways...what do you all think?

ahhh this makes me so happy!

i really hope i get codes. hopefully if i can get two codes, i can get 4 seats together.

i hate when real fans don't get tickets.

when coldplay came to ottawa a few years ago, i really was desperate for floor seats and i had to (very lowly) resort to paying extra on ebay just to get some. i hate when ppl hawk tickets like that.

Fellow Winnipeg fans,

I just found out that there Rewardzone was giving out presale passwords a couple days ago. I missed out! I am so incredibly annoyed. One, for the reasons mentioned above - some Joe Best Buy Shopper is gonna be up front trying to remember the name of the new album while I sit in section 340 singing to every word. Two, because well, I missed out.

I understand that the OP mentioned he was going to be needing three tickets, in which case the presale would be kinda useless to him. If anyone can help me out and happened to get a password but won't be using it, PLEASE! (I will buy you a drink) consider sharing the password with a real fan. I will appreciate it ten-fold.

Plus, I will be refreshing the browser like heck so I will get good seats over Joe@BestBuy. If anyone has any presale information for this silly Coldplay fan who didn't look out for it earlier, you will make my summer.

Thank you all, see you at the show (one way or another).

hahah, Maz, as far as Winnipeg Fans go, it's just you and me. It was only me for a LONG LONG time, but, it's nice to have some company.

Yah, the presale codes are retarded because, uhm, basically, non-fans are getting such a huge advantage, which is strange. But hey, we're Coldplayers...we'll find a way. lol.

Have you signed up and checked if there are any presale codes left? There still might be. You can sign of for rewardzone and get access right away. Try it out.

I wouldn't freak out too much about this. The seats offered during the presale weren't even that great. I tried for the Detroit show a few weeks ago, and all they had were floor seats, and side sections at the back of the arena. Nothing in the front at all. I recall a few other shows were like this as well. Not sure what the ticket allotment for the Canadian presales will be though.

Torontoboy, I experienced a similar problem when buying Petty tickets a while back. I got the presale password but ended up in section 300's anyway. I'm sure if I had boughten them with the rest of the world on release day I would've had a chance for closer tickets. I think they save some good seats for regular sales anyway.

Which I hope is the case for Coldplay. Hyphin I had tried to get a password this morning, they are all gone . Unless my American Express benefits come through (they haven't announced yet, but they sometimes give out presale passwords) I will be buying with the rest. I just hope the concert doesn't sell out before I can buy tickets. Otherwise I would have to ebay or kijiji or something! There is no way I will miss this.

Even if you can't get anything decent during the general sale, don't worry too much. Just check Ticketmaster every single day, because more seats [usually some of the best] get released at some point. It could be weeks, days or even hours before the concert...the main thing is to be persistent!

For example, for Coldplay's upcoming Detroit show, my friend and I bypassed the presale [like I mentioned in a previous post] and tried for tickets during the general sale. But like the presale, nothing good was coming up. So we just waited, and last week saturday, I randomly checked Ticketmaster and 14th row on the floor popped up!

This is how I've gotten great tickets for a number of concerts I've been to:D

Good luck!!!

When Best Buy fucked up and gave us all the "address undeliverable" problem, I ended up signing up under 2 more accounts to see if I could fix it. I ended up asking for 3 presale coes so if anybody wants one PM me or let me know and I can give it to you.

I had the same problem, and it was the same day that the Edmonton and Calgary shows were double listed for Montreal and Toronto, so I gave up!!

If that's the way presale codes are going, I guess I missed that boat too.

Something that troubles me... I'm in Winnipeg and I noticed just this week that the Aug 1 Winnipeg date has disappeared from the Ticketmaster database, with a Boston date added immediately the next day. Anyone heard anything about this?

I'll be super disappointed if the date was dropped, especially since tickest for the next nearest show in Minneapolis have been on sale for weeks now!

Yikes!

That's something that has me losing sleep, Duck. However, its not just Winnipeg, three other Canadian shows have no evidence of tickets going on sale anywhere. Even the Coldplay website does not have a link to purchasing those tickets. I am hoping there is just a delay in the distribution of those tickets. I rest myself assured in thinking that they would announce the show cancellation before removing the concert from the internet. It is quite unusual for a concert this big to still have not released ticket sales when the show date is less than 2 months away...

I signed up for the pre-sales (huuuge coldplay fan at heart), do we get them today or tomorrow? I heard they were going to give them out on today or tomorrow...unless they're all gone. <--- talking about Toronto's show. Anyone know? :S I did get confirmation my request was sent...but that's about it. >___<

Ugh! Missed out on the Best Buy thing- figured I would start checking for presale deals this week- obviously I'm starting a week too late. I would love to have a presale code if you have any left.

Big Coldplay fans here- me and my husband. Going to Montreal show- hopefully we won't get stuck behind a couple MAKING OUT the entire show (not even watching, or singing along, or ANYTHING!) again!!

Hey Duck and Maz, I'm glad to see other Winnipegers on here.

Yah, I noticed that Ticketmaster has completely dropped our show, but here is the thing:

LiveNation still has our show listed. Coldplay.com still has our show listed. Even the retarded as hell Best Buy presale code system had our show listed.

I think it's just a lag. I mean....if there was something going to go down with this concert, I am sure that it would happen sooner than this. So I think we are good.

But I am really frustrated with how close it's being cut. FIRST of all, I dont even have my presale code yet, which was supposed to come yesterday, or will come today. SECOND, once I have the code, tickets are SUPPOSED to go on presale on Thursday, but there isn't even a Ticketmaster site for Winnipeg. It's very stupid.
