Hehe. I semi-agree. Either LIJ or Yes, cuz LIJ sounds freaking awesome as an acoustic version already--the album version must be epic!

 

But for the moment, Yes! :) I loooove Chris's baritone voice.

it's definitely the sexiest song they've written, i mean with chris' low voice and all, and then the chorus (if only you'd say yes)... i dunno its definitely a highlight so far for me

the bit after the chorus is genius.

it's the epitome of catchy.

I may have to call the police, because you just stole the words right out of my mouth haha.. yeah, this song is the sickest one on the album I think. Kinda reminds me of what Thom Yorke would do if this was a Radiohead album.. so I guess this is Chris's Radiohead song.. or forget that, this is Chris's Coldplay song.

the thing about the song that makes me wonder a bit is that....he sings in a very low pitch compared to his other songs....at 3:25 he does a line in his usual pitch and it made me wonder if the song would have been better if it was like that the whole way through....

Well,after couple of days listening to the album, yes! is definately best song.

ahh I wish I could like this song. But it is not clicking with me at all. but the rest of the album is amazing

it needs to grow on me..i haven't loved it just yet..but i like it : )

It's definitely my first favorite off the album! I love everything about: the lyrics, the music and chris' voice sounds amazing in a lower register.

I decided Yes would be my new fave coldplay song after I heard the youtube snippet and now hearing the whole album tonight, I know my first impression was spot on!

 

Yes is really really good!!! The strings are lovely and the vocals are so dark and haunting. Love it.

 

Not so fussed on Sleep Chant tacked on the end of it tho' - the drums on Sleep Chant are the only thing making it worth listening to.

 

I don't think I can wait another week to have the album proper! :(

The strings on this song make it for me. This is my favorite song on the album. I love it.

For me, Yes is the 2nd best track on the new album. I love it so much maybe because it has the Oriental/Arabic melodies, first time Coldplay do something like this :)

Well, after the first 2 listens, this is my least favorite song on the album. :\

 

I think Chris's voice is way too deep, and the song too dark in general, but that's just half of the problem, the part I dislike the most is the oriental violin (is it a violin?) sound. That oriental touch isn't neccesarily bad, but I don't think it works with this song.

 

But, who knows, maybe my opinion'll change, but this is what I think of it now.

I don't know if "Yes" is their best song ever!.... but I think that is the best song in this new album.... at least is the best for me!!... I love the lyric, the music... everything!

It's definitely awesome but it's not my favorite. It's probably Coldplay's catchiest song ever though. It would probably do well as a single.
