if you are not using a capo, the chords you said are right.

thanks! anybody has tabs for the second and third part?

First of all, a HUGE thanks to acade and Puzzling for posting those.

Puzzling, one quick question regarding your tab though. At the section at the beginning where you spell out how to play each chord, you list F#m as "x|9|9|11|11|10|9". That's seven strings! My assumption is that the x is a mistake and the chord should read "9|9|11|11|10|9" but can you clarify just to be sure? Thanks in advance. :)

.
You're welcome, and I agree that arcade365's version is very good too :). Thanks for correcting me - I don't think the 6th string is played in the F#m bar chord, so I'd go for x|9|11|11|10|9.

Great tabs acade and puzzling, thank you

can anybody give me a tab of the second part the second riff that johny plays?

E-9-8-6-5-11-5 x2 then 9-8-6-4-11-4-9-8-6-3-11-3

I'm no tabber, but those are the notes, timing should be no problem.

Oh, sorry, you said second part of the SECOND riff...oh well. I know what I play for that, but I'm not sure it's right, so I rather not risk spreading around incorrect tabs.

  • Author

thanks anyway... I 've been looking for it everywhere and I can't find it

DiD you try the first page of this thread?

While we're at it...anybody have a clue what acoustic chords Chris plays in the "ghost" section? He has a capo on the first fret, and at the end of each line slides down so that he's holding the 11th fret on the A and D strings (at least during the first two verses), but I'm not sure if he's using standard tuning or what his exact finger positions are.

I could be wrong, but I'm almost positive that both Chris and Jon Play this in some altered tuning (perhaps just a step up or down), it's not noticible to my ear on the record (though I suck at picking out tuning), but when playing live, both of them swap guitars for this song. Most of Chris' acoustic parts are a bit strange tuning wise, but Jon seems to retune for this one as well.

EDIT: After going back over the thread, I see this has already been mentioned (at least for Chris' part), shows how much I pay attention...

I think I agree with that. Because during the second riff of the "ghost" part jonny's let's a string ring open, as he let's go with this left hand...Yet I haven't found a tab that includes an open string. So it may be the tuning.

From when they played the daily show:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVtVPuhpXT4

You can clearly see both the capo on Chris' acoustic and the fact that Jon changes guitars. Since they were only playing these two songs, there must be something to cause the change.

I've been listing to the track again and it does seem to sound open in the 2nd section. Still can't pin it down exactly though...:embarassed:
