How can anyone say that VLV is better than X&Y?

I hear ya! I think your hilarious and I get it .... I think.

SITS is just such a sentimental favorite for me and I had to make the best of X&Y... I liked the Album. I never loved it like I wanted to.

GAWD! Friday Im In Love! bleck... drivel. Cant figure out for the life of me what happened on Wish...

LOL or 37 year old guys wearing their heart on their sleeves... LOL (clears throat)...

You couldnt be more right about LOW or White Shadows having been released in place of The Hardest Part though. Even earlier, like the 2nd song.. Had White Shadows been dropped 2nd it would have given the whole album a different perspective and made Fix You look like a something out of left field....

agreed. I'm 36 myself so I don't have a problem stating how much I like the band's other work. ballads, rockers, and the like.

Jeez I had a 2 paragraphy response lost because my java crashed suddenly....

Again I don't hate X+Y and it grew on me after time but I noticed so many flaws from track to track regardless of the nice move to more electronics and the better cohesion as an album. If they'd had a better producer and had better internal support they might have had a truly great album. Clearly the label pressure, their manager leaving, and no external input like Eno didn't help.

The first SITS' strophe makes a bit sense (it has its weird side, but it has its cool side). Anyway, the rest of the lyrics are kinda cool and the music is wonderful.

About Low and White Shandows, Low is a KINDA GREAT track, but it isn't exactly a rocker, it was one of the first tracks to be removed in the elimination game and it went very bad on the polls. White Shadows, though, was a GIANT MISTAKE. It's one of the obvious singles pf the album, instead of Fix You, they should have released White Shadows, I CAN'T STAND Fix You, what a boring ballad. (White Shadows was released as single in Mexico).

Anyway, they should have released X&Y as single too, IMO the best track of the whole album. Oh, I almost forgot about Square One, the second best track of the album. Coldplay really chose shitty singles for this album, let's hope they'll chose better ones for this album.

Now, about The Hardest Part: it's a great track, with a shitty video. It's great, but not great enough to get its own single. If it got single, Square One, White Shadows, X&Y, Low, Swallowed In The Sea and Twisted Logic should get a single too.

also, how can any songwriter be taken seriously if they rhyme see, me and tree.

might as well be

hmm thats almost better

Well to me, the new album is a new band really.. I can't find almost no relation between X&Y and VLVODAAHF.. To me, it's like trying to compare Red Hot Chili Peppers and System of a Down (both which I love, not as much as Coldplay though :P).

I think X & Y is a better album, as a collection of music, You could listen to one and leave it, but VlVODaaHF is like one big song, after hearing one, you are immediately drawn into the next.

Doesn't that therefore render Viva La Vida as a better collection of music? I don't understand the logic here.

As for all this debate on "Swallowed in the Sea", it's funny - whilst I would probably go as far as saying I detest X&Y for all its soppiness, I actually liked "Swallowed In The Sea". Never mind me though, I'm awfully prone to guilty pleasures - I'll even admit to bopping along unashamedly to Rihanna's "Umbrella".

i LOVE X&Y and i like viva.................but i think lyrically X&Y is better and in my opinion X&Y has so much more feeling to it ........if u know what i mean
