I like how he takes no responsibility at all

Well, at least he clears it up that Chris didn't do some diva storm out....

btw, Mich, got CRAPPY seats for the Chicago show! I do have tickets so that is good but the tickets available were either in nosebleed or BEHIND THE STAGE!! I managed to get ones a little closer but not as close as I wanted:(

Oh no! How did that happen? :\

I watched Coldplay in nosebleed section in 2003 and it wasn't that bad, but still. Boo :(

I know! A BUNCH of tickets are on sale at ticketsnow for a lot of money and of course tickets are all over ebay and stubhub and don't forget the ticketmaster premium auctions - its nuts! KissesBirds (Lori) and I were on the phone in front of our computers and refreshed exactly as they went on sale and still got crappy seats...I guess we were lucky to get the ones we did. I'll see Coldplay any way I can I just wanted so badly to be close:cry: Ticket scalpers ought to be ashamed of themselves:veryangry2:

People are different, it's not about being superhuman it's about emotions, some people can keep theirs under control and stay professional and some can't. Chris obviously can't. I'm someone who can't keep mine under control either, and believe me I've tried. Creative people often wear their hearts on a sleeve, so if it means he has to politely leave an interview half way through, then so be it. He's certainly not the first and he won't be the last.

And siding with the paps is a weak argument, you must see that.

This has all been blown out of all proportion. You'd think the way people are banging on about it that he'd stormed in a cloud of swear words, slamming the door as he left. When all that really happened is that he ASKED very politely if he could step outside for two seconds and then came back.

Any excuse for a character assassination. :dozey:

Yeah, I love to assassinate one of my favorite artists. Wearing your heart on your sleeve is one thing, but the point is, he had no reason to get upset. From his short answers to just walking out...to putting Will in that position. I only say this because a few weeks ago I was reading an interview where he did the exact same thing.

I don't care what Chis does really, I'm only concerned because it paints a bad image of him and his bandmates. I don't know how many times I've had to read people say that Chris Martin is stuck up or Chris Martin is a prick...and it's just not the case.

We don't know he had no reason, there's no way of knowing that. We only have the picture painted by Radio 4.

And as I said it's easy to be professional on paper, it's very hard to do so in reality.

At the end of the day people would say he was a prick whether he walked out of an interview or not, that's just the way it is, some people just don't like him.

Their album just shifted 300,000 copies in three days, I really don't think there's any need to be worrying about what this non incident did for their image :D

"As if to illustrate his point, the singer then responded to a question about the album title Viva la Vida (borrowed from a painting of watermelons in a bowl by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo) by joking: 'We've always wanted to have nice melons as inspiration.' I light-heartedly chided his 'sexist joke about Frida Kahlo'."

Hey if he says it was lighthearted I'll take his word for it. But it really didn't come across that way.

I agree, I was listening to this interview as it was broadcast, before we knew what had gone on and I remember thinking the guy was being overly critical and quite rude.

As Melanie said though, whilst he accepts no blame he does make it clear that it really wasn't as big a deal as the press are making it out to be.

It'll all be forgotten soon, Amy Winehouse will do something crazy again and the press will be all over her for the next week. :dozey:

I heard it with my ears, lol.

lol, I actually think Radio 4 was quite nice about it. The interviewer could have made comments to make Chris a douche, but the worst name he called him was "reluctant" and that he was.

Nobody listens to Radio 4 anyway, so it's irrelevant.

Maybe he was just having one of those days. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I had just released an album and had to talk to people nonstop all the time. :P

wouldn't it depend on the tons of money you'd get for an interview?

i mean come on folks, we all know that they get scadoodles of money for each interview they give, don't we? so mr. martin should leave his moods home or change the business he's working in.

...or let jonny will and guy make the interviews!

but away from that i don't think chris is having those bad days because of the many interviews. it's more the private thing i could swear....

You're not getting paid for interviews when you're promoting an album. You're trying to sell something after all.

Try and look up "payola" on Wikipedia. ;)

A.

I think the interviewer was trying to read far too much into the album.:dozey:

:stunned:

Has he turned into some kind of exhibitionist??

 I'm sure some of the fans on here would love that!

You included??

Meh, I'm not really much of a fangirl, lol. The only long, hard things I hope he keeps exibiting are his drumsticks!;)

I agree, and that's what upset Chris. Chris has a hard time making sense of the stuff he writes as it is without the interviewer making it even more complicated and asking him questions he probably didn't really understand how to answer.

But rather than get upset he could have just been like, "It's really quite simple actually....insert explanation here." He'll give himself high-blood pressure, lol. He gets irritated too easily.

Euphemistically speaking??

Well, the guys must all have a little exhibitionist in them since they're promising magic balls on the tour!!:D

Or maybe that's just your mind working overtime??:P
