Simon Pegg Penned Song With Chris Martin

It's me!

Simon Pegg has written a song with Chris Martin.

The 'Hot Fuzz' actor and the Coldplay frontman penned the track, titled 'A+E' together, to poke fun at 'Talk' from Coldplay's album 'X+Y'.

Pegg jokingly said: "The song we wrote is called 'A+E'. It was written in chords of A and E, and its all about injuries, 'If you've got a broken finger or a broken toe, if you've got a crushed thorax, there's only one place to go.' I reckon it's better than most of the stuff on their albums."

In the UK 'A+E' stands for Accident and Emergency the name given to the walk-in ward at hospitals.

Comedian Pegg is no stranger to working with Coldplay.

He sung backing vocals on the track '1.36', a B-side to 'The Scientist' released in November 2002. He also once played harmonica live with the band at the V Festival in England.

Pegg is good friends with Martin, 31, and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow, 35. He is also godfather to their three-year-old daughter Apple.

The comedian-turned-actor has also defended Martin's public image, insisting he is mistakenly seen as a dour character.

Pegg said: "The image built up of Chris is that he is he's a misery guts - but he's actually a ball of energy and hilariously funny. He always phones me up pretending to be someone else - often someone Scottish!"

Don't get my hopes up! My favorite rock star and favorite movie star on the same stage? I couldn't handle it. Although I really do hope this song sees the light of day at some point.

I'm feeling that this might be the second single from The Nappies! Or would this be too much of a dream?? :laugh4:

ahhh, my two favorite things together...:dead:

SIMON DID BACKING VOCALS ON 1.36?! is this news, or have we always known that?

i think i now like 1.36 a lot more :P

and i'd like to hear chris's scottish accent after hearing his american one...oh goodness

He's the one that does the yelling on it near the end Chelsea :D

Hehe, now you can listen to it with a new appreciation :D

What can I say? I love chocolate!

Oh wait no :uhoh: I can't say that! ARGH! I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry

:P

I could have almost punched myself when I met Chris before...because Simon Pegg was with him and I forgot all about him!! :( I wish I could have said something to him......Hot fuzz and Shaun of the Dead are awesome  Plus, I like him as a policeman!

not sure about the bleach job there though! :uhoh:

I  Simon loads! :D I wonder if we're ever going to hear this song? :laugh3:

i guess that's much more offensive in the UK...its a really common american expression, so it hasn't really been a big deal over here in the tabloids, even though the whole sleeping pill thing has...along with him thinking he was gay, "storming out" of the BBC, etc etc

I honestly didn't think it was that big a deal either, I was wondering why Jo was telling him to take it back. The world has gone mad if people honestly think saying chocolate is like crack is going to influence anyone. Crazy.

Yeah, if you read that Rolling Stone article he was prompted in the the gay thing, the guys asked if he thought he was gay. Our media just go to town on anything, it's insane. We're obviously not used to having massive stars come from this country.

^I love the way Chris can't stop laughing.... Simon's hiiiiilarious!!

love also how Chris puts his hand on Jonny's knee and Jonny reciprocates :sneaky: haha

I can never ever see that bit. I always miss it.

What time is it about?

Thanks! :nice: :D How silly of me, is really obvious now :P

I've never seen Shaun of the Dead - I know this sounds really daft, but I'm dead squimish, so I've always thought I wouldn't be able to handle it...

what a baby!

It is a little gory in parts, in a comic way, but still makes me look away.

You should though, it's absolutely hilarious! :D

yeah, i'm the most squeamish person alive, but all the gore is so fake and so overblown that to me, it's really not that gross. frankly, even though there was less frequent gore in hot fuzz, i found that to be MUCH more stomach turning.

The part when David gets pulled out of the window is NOT nice!!!

but everything else is ok!

Yeah that's the bit I was thinking of, also when Phillip has his neck bitten.
