WEDDING MUSIC PLEASE HELP!

Featured Replies

I know I suggested several, and others have come up with great ideas, but Cris_Santos is right, the lyrics for Til Kingdom Come are just beautiful for a wedding

If you don't like the song, completely forget it! It's your wedding and you have to choose something that will make you feel good above all :)

Well I wouldn't want to shoot the bride, but, come on, Til Kingdom Come is bloody brilliant.

It is comfortably in my top 5 Coldplay - lyrics wise, I think Chris is at the top of his game here

Reign of Love.

I know not alot of people like it, but it's just lovely.

it would be so romantic :)

Of course Cris_Santos is right (again!)

It's your day, you should pick something you love.

(But man, I love Til Kingdom Come)

Reign of Love.

This is my least favourite song in VLV indeed but it'd be really beautiful in a wedding :)

You should consider using some of the String Quartet versions of Coldplay songs. Do you know them? They're just adorable :)

You only live twice. I remember on the A Rush of B-Sides to Your Head, there was that song live and i remember Chris saying something about wedding so... You Only Live Twice

Then one dream appears and love is it's name...

Strawberry Swing would be perfect for a wedding song.

I might even use it myself actually... :uhoh:

My son used the song Chris did with Michael Stipes on Austin City Limits,

I LOVE LOVE LOVE COLDPLAY AND WANT TO INCORPORATE THEIR MUSIC INTO MY CIVIL WEDDING CEREMONY NEXT WEEK, HOWEVER I CANNOT HAVE ANY RELIGIOUS REFERENCES NOR ANY INAPPROPRIATE LYRICS. TRY AS I MIGHT AND LISTENING TO ALL THEIR ALBUMS OVER AND OVER, APART FROM RUSH OF BLOOD TO THE HEAD (AND I AM STILL NOT CONVINCED THAT IS APPROPRIATE), I CANNOT THINK OF ANY APPROPRIATE SONGS.

HOWEVER WE ARE HAVING YELLOW AS OUR FIRST DANCE SONG, WHICH SHOULD BE HILARIOUS WHEN HE SAYS ABOUT SKIN AND BONES, AS I AM QUITE CURVY HA HA.

ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE WOULD BE GREAT

AROBTTH lol, isn't that a little dark for a wedding? At my sisters wedding I put in a request for clocks, which she liked, but I never heard it at the reception. For background music during dinner or something, I suggest: don't panic, shiver, yellow, in my place, GPASUYF, The Scientist, Clocks, Green eyes, fix you, talk, SOS, the hardest part, lost!, lovers in japan, viva la vida, strawberry swing.

for dancing: Yellow, Clocks, white shadows, talk, or viva la vida.

In the Sun by Joseph Arthur,

Yes, yes, YES!

One of my all time favourite songs, though the original is better

it's possibly , I think, the greatest song ever written.

plus, it gets used in scrubs, BONUS POINTS

"Green Eyes" and "Strawberry Swing" are the first two that come to mind. The first section of "Death And All His Friends" would work like a charm, if you're willing to find a way to separate it from the second section (where the tempo picks up).

Well, in addition to the obvious Yellow...

I would go for Green Eyes, Proof (from Speed of Sound single), and Swallowed in the Sea.

If you'd like stuff from Viva, I would also suggest Lovers in Japan / Reign of Love, and Strawberry Swing.

Mazel Tov!

ya we never change is good..........and also a message.............and riegn of love.......

There was a woman on here a couple of years ago who was wondering the same thing. I think she used one of the instrumental versions of one of the songs in her ceremony. They're around if you know where to look.

I i hadn't got married 2 years ago, Reign of love would be my choice now

After hearing it again, strawberry swing is a must. "such a perfect day...without you it's a waste of time..."
