So, if I go up to Eugene Hutz/Sufjan Stevens/one of my various other musician crushes and ask them to open a pickle jar, they'll fall in love with me?!!?!?!

Well to her credit men ARE pretty undervalued in our society. If you're a man (especially if you have a beard) and you're in a public place and a child comes up to you who can't find his parents, then you better avoid that kid like the plague. Otherwise you might get accused of being a child molester or something.

Women try too hard to be "manly", which baffles me. I think the Oprah lady is right, even if she comes across as a bit "uncle Tom" in her pickle jar reference.

Then there's Sex and the City. Don't get me started on that travesty.

SATC is a disgustingly simple-minded parade of thinly veiled sexual references designed to give women an outlet for their carnal desires that, conveniently enough, isn't sex.

It celebrates a lifestyle and personality-type that simply doesn't exist in the real world. As a result, women who watch SATC feel a sense of profound emptiness when they become introspective, because their own lives are far more boring than the TV show.

It's one of those shows where you have to switch your brain off to really enjoy. And you did have a point about real life being far less interesting than the girls' weekly adventures, but I think the reason that the series/ movie was so popular is that it's a way to escape our hum drum lives for a while. How entertaining would it be to have four women discuss real problems without any exaggeration every week?

I have a complaint:

This forum is too addicting:P

Then again, Desperate Housewives is even worse!!:dozey:

I hate those Oprah episodes where it's like, "100 ways to get a man! :cheesy:" Boooo. What happened to her crusade to find child molesters?

"100 ways to get a child molester"??:stunned:

I have a few more complaints:

1. My drummer can't keep any secrets and because of this I may have to quit the band because I am a person who sometimes says too much in confidence and he wont even apologize

2. (This one is for my Mom): My mom is suffering from back-spasms and I feel awful for her

3. I missed George Lopez today:cry:

Oh well, Ive had better days

Why are people so lazy and fucked in the head?

I too need a job, been trying since January.:(

Well, there's always handy work! It keeps the wolf away from the door, and is always in demand, if you don't mind a challenge dealing with plumbing, electrical, roofs, etc. (The worst is dealing with things screwed up by others; some of the things I've seen in this area would make you truly believe Laurel and Hardy were local tradesmen!)

:shocked2::rolleyes::laugh3: Um... well, why not just go busking on the street corner or subway for loose change? Or, there's a million leaky faucets in the city, and each one has a story to tell..
