Ya community college is a great option, but some people are like oh community college...thats lame. Whatever though! Well my major is International Business...but i dunno ive been changing my mind lately. I dont know what to do!

mmm when we are in our last year of school we have to do a big big test about math, language, and sciences or history, so according to the results you can choose a career and a university, also the high school grades count... after that you go to uni for 5 years (6 years for engineering and other careers, and 7 for med school) and that's it. If you don't do it good enough in the test you can take it again the next year

 

anyway I didn't know what to do when I was in high school, but I had a really good result in the test so I started to go to uni after that but just in a 2 years program which is basically about everything (I did it in social sciences) and now I'm studying sociology :)

 

The good thing is that the best universities are here in Santiago, so I go to a very good one and it's just 30 minutes away from home :)

We've got something similar to that test... On your last year of prep school you do that big ass test and it's supposed to show you the careers you should consider as they would suit you best. It's up to you if you actually follow what the test says tho'.... In my case I was sure I wanted either architecture or graphic design and the test basically said the same thing. So it was either graphic design at a private university or architecture at the public uni. And as I had no budget to pay for private school, architecture it was :P Even though it's public it's the biggest uni in the country, there's a campus in every state. And it's ridiculously cheap :P

To enter university you gotta apply for a specific career, so if you don't know what you want to do for the rest of your life you can't apply for university... it's a lot of pressure :\

OMG thats exactly what my best friend did! She went into school as an architecture major, now she is a graphic design major!!!

People with creative tendencies always have a hard time choosing just one to focus on.... I'm glad I stayed in architecture tho', It's hard but it gives you such a huge span of different things to do afterwards :wacky: I love it, I can't imagine myself having a different career :nice:

You just gotta focus, and separate your hobbies from what you actually would like to work as... for example I love drawing, painting, sewing, but I realized those are hobbies (dorky hobbies, but hey thats me :p) not future careers :P
