hrobert
I was searching a topic about this, and I'm sure there is one (or more), but couldnt find them... So how long before the concert do you go to the venue when you have standing ticket?
Chavi
5 or 6 hours before they open the doors, so 7 or 8 hours before the show starts. that's when you want to be front row of course ;)
majgirl
5 or 6 hours before they open the doors, so 7 or 8 hours before the show starts. that's when you want to be front row of course ;) I've never had a standing ticket to a Coldplay show but are you telling me just 7 or 8 hours will get you close to the front? Every band I've ever had a standing ticket for was a 24 hour minimum wait in line to be anywhere near the front. Not that I ever did it, sleeping out side is not for me, but wow 7 or 8 hours would be doable. Too bad I live in America where big shows are generally seated. Chavi
I guess we're not that obsessed nor paranoid not to get front row in France.. thanks for that ! phew !
Glossal Fragster
it really depends on if your up for pushing ur way through people :laugh3: i havent been to a coldplay concert before...but i went to a razorlight one and i went in 2 hours after the doors had opened and i still got to the front :D ...but mind you it was 25,000 capacity.....and the doors opened 5 hours before they came on :laugh3: if your up for some shoving then just a few hours before id say :D (that's not helped at all has it :P)
CPRani
I've never been to a concert, but I have standing tickets for Coldplay's concert, and I am thinking of skipping school that day to stand in line for many hours :P.
Strawberry Swinger
Well, it all depends. In Serbia, on Lenny Kravitz concert, I came two hours before and was in first row. So the similar should be in Hungary I guess ;)
viva la vida
^^ Well I think in Hungary it would be best to come about 7pm (+/-) When I was on RHCP concert we came about 1 pm and there was already big crowd... but that's happening when you want first row or be in the fan pit... I can't imagine the same thing with coldplay, don't know why :D
Chavi
I guess it all depends on how popular the band is..

I was supposed to go but I had the entrance exam for university that day :( :( :( Oh well at least I am a student now lol... Yeah honestly, RHCP is bigger than Coldplay. (not better though)
viva la vida
^^ hehe true :) I was in Serbia too, but in Milan and Udine we came that early... so the location can be the factor X
akire_rk
i was today like 12 hours, before they open the doors, and 14 and half until they start the show
Black Rose
You know the advantage of having reserved seats is that you don't have to get to the venue super-early in order to get near the front. Which is nice in a way :)

Black Rose
For R.E.M. a couple weeks back, I was planning to get to the venue an hour or so before the doors opened to get a good spot, but I got held up in traffic getting across Winchester (as I was an idiot using a 'shortcut' to try and bypass the M3/A34 junction which is always busy)
open6l
5 or 6 hours before they open the doors, so 7 or 8 hours before the show starts. that's when you want to be front row of course ;) heh - must be nice... here in North America you're looking at least 24hrs if not more to get anywhere near the front for major concerts and events (providing there are actually any standing areas since most concerts are all seated and ticketed as such). Might need to take a trip to Europe :)

Ilione
The question about how long one should queue up was actually the problem I had in my mind as well but I couldn't find a topic, either. So thank you hrobert for opening that topic! :) The gig in Munich will be my first Coldplay gig and honestly, I have no clue at all about when it's best to start queuing up... Well, for me, starting to queue up pretty early wouldn't be such a big problem as that's what I've been usually doing at all the gigs I've been to so far. Being a fan of James Blunt, queuing up for something about 5-6 hours before the doors are opened is something I'm already used to. ;) Of course, most of the people attending those gigs normally turn up at about 4-5 pm, but I want to make sure to be one of the firsts in line. :D So, what do you think? Are 5-6 hours of queuing before the gig okay?
*Sarah*
^yes ;) people who went to the concert in mannheim said, that 2 pm was enough for the front row.
Strawberry Swinger
it REALLY depends. Sometimes 2 hours before is enough.
rocknroll389
Ok, so i'm going to the coldplay concert at the Izod center Oct. 26 and i'm so excited! I cant believe i won a pair of tix from my local station! (i won tix to go to MSG as well from PLJ here in the NYC metro) Anyway, the tix i have are high in the upper deck and i was wondering what kind of luck i have to get upgraded by the roadies. Im not sure if its true or not, but i heard they give away floor seats to the devoted fans in the upper levels if you get to the show really early. Is this correct, and if so, how early should i go? I know i shouldnt be so greedy as i already have tix and so many ppl dont, but i cant help myself because the last 2 coldplay concerts i went to, i was really close to the band on the floor and love that more intimate feeling. Thanks for your help. (BTW, i hope i posted in an appropriate place)
