Former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker is in a 'critical but stable' condition after suffering severe burns in a plane crash that killed four others.

 

The Learjet plane, which was carrying a total of six people, crashed just moments after taking off from Columbia, South Carolina, shortly before midnight on Friday.

 

Barker managed to escape the burning wreckage of the aircraft before emergency services arrived, as did Hollywood's Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, who was also on board.

 

Two other passengers, named as Barker's assistant Chris Baker, 29, and security guard Charles Still, 25, were killed in the crash. Pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, and co-pilot James Bland, 52, have also been pronounced dead.

 

William Owens, 60, who witnessed Barker and Goldstein's escape, told reporters: "I noticed two guys who were on fire and it looked like a dance: They didn't know what to do."

 

Barker and Goldstein had performed together at a South Carolina college before boarding the plane, which was set to travel to Van Nuys, California.

 

National Transportation Safety Board member Debbie Hersman has confirmed that an investigation is now underway.

 

"We're working as fast as we can to document all the evidence," she said. "We have not yet found anything but we are looking at everything."

I was gonna start this thread yesterday when I found out about this. I was so sad. I love Travis. I think that he is the best drummer of all time!!! I really hope that he gets better... I saw on E! that he was burned severly form the waist down and that DJ AM guy was burned horribly all over his face!! :cry: :stunned:

TMZ has learned Travis Barker has been burned from the waist down, but he is expected to survive the plane crash. DJ AM's face was severely burned and is being tended to right now.

 

We're also told the tragedy is all the worse because one of the passengers who died, Chris Baker, Travis' assistant on "Meet the Barkers," was married recently and has a new baby.

Sources tell us Travis Barker and DJ AM saved their own lives after their plane crashed by jumping out the door of the burning plane, almost immediately after the small jet came to a halt.

 

As we reported, both are at a burn center, but it could have been fatal. The Learjet was already on fire when they fled.

TRAVIS is one of the best drummers out there and i really do hope they both get better!!!

Before I even heard this happened yesterday I was listening to Blink on my Ipod and just listening to how amazing he is!!! (ironic)

He is truly the best and I am truly sorry for him!! :cry:
