In fact, Michael Rapino, one of the chiefs at Live Nation stated - in an interview on 'D - La Repubblica delle Donne' (a supplement of 'La Repubblica' italian newspaper) that in 2009 will be hold a concert to celebrate the probable victory of Barack Obama at next Us presidential elections. Now I love Coldplay but this is one thing I don't agree on with them, but I still love them. I don't like to comment on foreign elections, but like Chris I do feel strongly about this issue. Unfortunately one of the things the Republicans have done to America is to rule by fear these last 8 years through mis-information. The Democratic party is absolutely not a Socialst party in anyone's eyes other than an extreme right-winger. They are not acively champoining wealth re-distribution or nationalisation (we'll leave that to the incompetent Republicans whose greed/ deregulation caused the worst banking crisis since 1914). In fact, our own right wing party in the Uk is now considered to be much to the left of your Democratic party, and no one here in the UK would consider the Conservatives a Socialist Party. In fact - unless you are earming over $250,000 a year, you're highly likely to be better off under Obama than McCain, who only seems concerned - like his predecessor with the top 1% of the US population. PS. Barack Obama isn't a terrorist because his surname rhymes with Osama. :)
October 29, 200817 yr That concert better happen here in DC, or someone's going DOWN! :P And (obviously) I'm a pretty intense Obama supporter. I also think it's great to hear what people in other countries think, because unfortunately, it does affect them. I'm not that comfortable with the idea that the US' actions have such a large influence when our world news coverage is so woefully inadequate, but it's reality. I'm all for Chris voicing his support for Obama. Anyone should be able to express their opinions, no matter how famous they are or their nationality. It's an important and historic election, and it's very exciting- you can't help watching! I know that I can't tear myself away from the polls and the news, especially living in DC... It's all-consuming! I'll almost be sad to see it end, although it means I'll get more sleep at night :P
