Jackson Five confirm reunion tour and album

Featured Replies

Jermaine Jackson has confirmed that The Jackson Five will reunite for a tour and to release new material in 2009.

Jackson told Australian Associated Press that all the original band members – including Michael Jackson – have agreed to the reunion and have been working on new material.

He added that sister Janet Jackson would open their tour dates with a solo set.

"This has been a long time coming for the Jackson family to get back together," he said.

He added, "What we've been doing is working on the music and all the logistics. It is going to be more like a family affair, Janet's going to open and, of course, the original Jackson Five: Michael, Randy and the whole family.

"We're in the studio, we're planning on being out there next year."

MICHEAL RULES OUT REUNION!:

Michael Jackson has no plans to record or tour with his family next year, reports say.

The singer ruled out a reformation of the Jackson 5 just hours after his brother Jermaine confirmed the family will reunite next year.

The 'Thriller' star said in a statement that he was too busy working on his own projects, reports WENN. Jackson is rumoured to be planning a comeback world tour in 2009, which would take in 30 cities.

"My brothers and sisters have my full love and support, and we've certainly shared many great experiences, but, at this time, I have no plans to record or tour with them.

"I am now in the studio developing new and exciting projects that I look forward to sharing with my fans in concert soon," the statement read.

The Jackson brothers, with the exception of Michael, appeared together at the BMI Awards in LA earlier this year.

  • 4 months later...

mm the only Jackson 5 related that i see this year is that album:

Can You Feel It: The Jacksons Collection.

a compilation album NOT a new album.

(is available on spotify).

Michael is busy with a concert tour and new album (or at least a new single.) I don't think he has time to get back together with his brothers.
