Amen.

I'm overjoyed at the result, and look forward to the victory concert in January 2009 (didn't Obama offer Coldplay the gig, I had read somewhere?)

Would love to hear Viva La Vida played at that concert, albeit with perhaps modified lyrics (it's a wonderful uplifting song, but I don't think "never an honest word, and "I know St. Peter won't call my name " would be appropriate for Obama (unless Coldplay play it to pictures of Bush! :))

The USA has given me some of the happiest days of my life: I have family in California, Nevada and Florida (all Democrat, I'm proud to say) and have spent time in all 3 states.

After the fear and decisive politics of the last 8 years, I'm so happy for what has happened for the US last night.

Chelsea!!!!!!!!! I LOVE your new siggy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the Obama win!!!!!!!!!!

Wonderful! That settles it: Viva La Vida for the victory concert please in Jan with a montage of the disasters of the Bush era and the hope of the Obama one.

hmm.. well how to put this...

though i am only 15, i had a very big opinion on this election, mainly because this will impact my own life and future in a big way, but i honestly do not like Obama, i am a mccain girl.

Im not the person who thinks he is the antichrist or anything like that, i just dont like his views and i dont think he has the experience to run this country.

now, I am always proud to be an american because (no offence) i believe we live in the greatest country.

I wish all the luck President Obama and I do think he would be good for our country, though he is no McCain. then again, we all different opinions and this is mine

Good Luck Obama!

No flames please!!

PS- a happy Chris makes it all worth it! ;)

I POSTED THIS YESTERDAY:

I swear, when I first heard, "And we are projecting that the next president will be...Senator Barack Obama"

...I thought...

"Chris will be happy, all will be right with the world!"

^OMG, Chris said something about "all being right with the world" in his note to the fans

LOLO

We are kindered spirts :)

haha, well i don't know about coldplay playing any sort of victory concert, but it's nice to hope, isn't it? if it ever became true, i'd probably have a heart attack. i'm already trying to finagle tickets to the inaugaration--if coldplay were somehow playing AS WELL, i'd get those tickets by hook or by crook.

That's not his personal "journal" is it? :P

aww this is soooooo Chris

I knew he would do something like that

Hope you get 'em Chelsea!!!!!

^thanks! :nice:

you know, i bet the only reason that the guys decided to do another leg of the tour in the US this october and november was so that they could be in the country for election day! i bet they all sat around and said "we want to do another leg of the US, but when?" and i bet chris started bouncing and said "EARLY NOVEMBER 2008. OBAMA." :P

jajajajajajajaj

that totally sounds like something Chris would do!!!!!!

Chelsea, I love your sig :nice:

:bigcry: for the first time in years, i'm proud to be an american.

I have no problem with your view and I totally respect it. I really liked how you express yourself in your post.

Though I voted for Obama, I totally agree with you on always being proud to be an American. I am so tired of hearing people say that now they feel proud to be American. I may not like the government and how it does and runs things, but I've always been proud to be American because it is my identity.

Funny thing is.... if only people voted like this four years ago then we might not have been in this mess but we'll never know. LOL!!

i didn't really think about being proud to be american or not until i went overseas back in 2003 and saw how hated we were on principle, how stereotyped we all were based on our president's persona and horrific actions. it's harder to be proud of your nationality when you see what little stock it has with the rest of the world.

and when i went overseas again this past summer as an older person (and a person actually living in another country rather than just a tourist), i noticed the glaring and wonderful absence of many of the problems people face in america every day. lots of the hardships over here simply don't exist in some other countries because they actually have competent governments, and their education systems are better to begin with. it broke my heart to see what my own country could be if it tried harder and changed its ways.

personally, i just have a hard time being 100% proud of my nationality when in my opinion, my country has made some severe and regrettable mistakes that i believe could have been avoided with competent people in the right positions.
