Glass of Water guitar tabs

Featured Replies

I was just jamming on the guitar, when something sounded familiar, thought I heard Glass of Water in it. Started tabbing it out. It may not be accurate at all, but it is definitely a way to play it..

I'm not that experienced in tabbing.. so correct me and complete it as you like :)

CAPO on 2nd fret.

G 3-2-0-0-0-3
C X-3-2-0-1-0
F 1-3-3-2-1-1
Em 0-2-2-0-0-0
Am 0-0-2-2-1-0

Verses:

C G C
Scared of losin' all the time

  G C
He wrote it in a letter

  G C G
He was a friend of mine

Continue the verses that way..

-------------------------------

Pre-Chorus thingy:

F
Will I see heaven in mine?

G G G G
Ooooh ooooh oooooh I

-------------------------------

Guitar Riff / Chorus:

C - Em - Am - F (repeat)

Cool, thanks :)

For chorus (From: son.... don't ask) the root note are:

D - F# - B - G

What the exact chords are you can better find out.

Because I found those out by playing the bass.

With capo on 2 it is:

C - E - A - F

Mostly are powerchords/5th chords.

EDIT:

Ooh I see you already had that, when i scrolled in your chords!

Nice work!

Does anyone have it on piano? and then possibly upload a youtube video to show how you play it? you would could tons of hits!! please!!!!

Well, I can't make music, but in piano-chord form.

The beginning verse is just alternating D - A, back and forth.

At "Stars in heaven align." it goes to G or Gsus, not sure which, then "Oh oh oh" is repeated A.

CHORUS

D - D/F# - Bm - G (repeat)

The F# is in minor. :)

I'm been studying Chris's piano bridge using the 4music video...

To me it looks/sounds like he's arpeggiating a D chord (with some other notes in between) all the way through with his right hand, and on the left he plays D Major (the video shows him kind of alternating between the keys D and F#) and then works down to Dsus2 (notes F# down to E and after that down to D [alternating with the A note]). Chris then repeats this, only he keeps playing the E note and switches to an A major chord before the solo (same chords as the chorus obviously).

After that, Chris just fiddles around with the chord D before playing a G chord at the very end.

Yeah he plays D, Dsus2 - A On the verse

^no tabs that I've seen. I'd try to sort it out for myself but unfortunately I won't have my guitar again for another week :( .

This is quite compicated, I mean with both hands such things

I didn't describe it very clearly. it's basically fast arpeggios with the right hand and chords D, Dsus2, A with the left.

Coldplay - Glass of water

I know there were few topics about tabs for this song, but they aren't proper.

In the video(sorry I can't link it) you can clearly see that Buckland is playing near the 12th fret and that he's not using capo. Chods i found don't sound like that in the song. Could anyone make good tabs or give a link? That would make me really happy.

Hi and welcome to coldplaying!

I merged the threads regarding the guitar tabs, hope you'll find what you're looking for or someone else can help you here. :nice:
