But why does Coldplay want Americans to hear it almost a week after the Japanese? :confused: I have no problem listening when it's out somewhere in the world...

it has nothing to do with 'when coldplay wants us to hear it'... the music industry has its own day of the week for releasing albums in every country and it just happens to be tuesdays in the US. so i would have no guilt whatsoever listening to it after it comes out in japan.

Coldplay - with other bands - have no idea when they're music is released nowadays.

Hence record labels.

 

That was totally proved when Chris was asked about this on an american radio show a week or two back and he said: "yeah, I have little idea about when they're coming out" (Lost! and Prospekts)

are there any hardcore fans in japan on this board...cuz if there are then we would hear the album (in the UK) after 3pm on tuesday, if some japanese fans download at 12am on wed

Again, as with VLVODAAHF, I am apparently the only one here who WILL NOT listen to a leak. I ignored all the leaks of the album, and I actually had to leave the forum for ma few weeks to avoid the temptations. I believe we hear the music when Coldp0lay wants us to hear it, and I prefer listening in the best possible quality and with the CD the first time through. So I guyess I'm in for another long ride.
