November 14, 200817 yr I need advice on how to advertise my apartment lease. It ends in July and I need someone to take it over. I've been offering 2 month's rent but haven't had much luck. So I was thinking offering 2 month's rent or 1000 dollars or 1 month's rent and a new flat screen tv. Any Ideas?
November 14, 200817 yr We had the same problem when one of my housemates dropped out of uni. I'd say think about how/ where to advertise it. If it's close to university/ college, try advertising it on their noticeboard. Also take pictures, which make it look very nice.
November 15, 200817 yr Author I've been trying craigslist but without any luck. And Jay if you ever around and want too look at it let me know. I forgot one small thing though, you're supposed to be in school to take the lease, but they never check, they just ask you to put down what college you go to. I really need to remember that when I advertise that. If you want to look at the complex visit http://www.gainesvilleplace.com to get a better feel for the place.
November 15, 200817 yr Is your room at university ? In that case you could put an ad at a bus stop nearby the university. People that are compelled to rent downtown would be glad to be at university itself instead of renting downtown. I think in any case it would be a good idea to write a nice ad with a pic of your room at a bus stop and at the supermarket. The TV in the room is also a good idea. :)
November 15, 200817 yr Author It's close to the university. Thanks for the advice! If I can get an American Visa I will rent if from you Are you really considering moving to the states?
November 15, 200817 yr Author You're asking the wrong person, plus you're supposed to be attending college to live at the apartment. My friends at UF said they all tried to get my places rented but I doubt they tried. So i'm going to offer all of them 500 dollars to get my room rented.
November 15, 200817 yr Author I would assume good. I'm pretty sure UF is well rated but very hard to get into.
