I’m just waiting for their website to update their downloadable PDF files! How do you follow an album that’s No. 1 in 36 countries? According to Coldplay, it’s with a tour of similar magnitude, as Greg Parmley reports… A palpable, heavy stress hung in the Coldplay camp before the release of the band’s fourth studio album. It had been three years since X&Y had stoked the UK quartet’s popularity, and even with producer Brian Eno onboard, no one was quite sure how the public at large would react. Back in 2005, news of a delay in the completion of X&Y was so significant that it caused EMI’s share price to dip, and as the meticulous sessions dragged the process over deadline, it looked as though history was about to repeat itself. “The record isn’t finished until it’s finished,” says tour manager and road veteran Andy Franks. “It doesn’t matter what the timescale is, or what EMI shareholders think, the band are perfectionists – if they’re not ready then they won’t be subjected to deadlines.” http://www.ilmc.com/iq_downloads.html
