i really loved edinburgh :nice:

especially look out for the fudge kitchen.

the castle is pretty spectacular too. also, if you're going around september, i think that's the same time as a big festival they put on. its all really fun (:

i'll keep thinking...

Yes <3

If you go around festival time it's absolutely amazing.

Yeah! Partytime! :D

and me! :D we're gonna have a great time!

You have to visit Hamley's, its the most amazing toyshop ever! The Tower Of London is cool.

Oxford was cool

I'd recommend you to visit the Lake District.

Unless you are a keen geography student I wouldn't

It is a really beautiful place though.

If it just were closer, I was thinking everything was an hour away but I guess having in mind that Sweden is a bit bigger compared to UK effs up my track of distances and makes me think you can get to anywhere in UK within no time.

Means I'll have to scratch Edinburgh, or extend the trip or just use that telep.. whoops.

(My fault for asking about tips anywhere in UK though, but keep em coming!)

Anyone been in the Science museum (;)) who can give any opinions whether it's worth visiting? Or the london dungeon? I'm looking around on sites for random suggestions and asking for unbiased criticism here heh :P

You can get from London to Liverpool in less than three hours. I'm not suggesting you should go but it is definitely possible to visit a Northern town/ city.

Can't recommend you anything then because I don't really know the South.

Oh ho ho! i've got plenty of things i have to do/see in the uk. :wink3: :sneaky:

I'm celebrating my birthday in style this year...Coldplay and London! :D :P

But sorry...I'll be too broke to buy everyone a drink rofl.

:D ur b-day, i want a present  i deserve it

Why?

I just really didn't like it. I'm still a bit annoyed that we lost capital of culture to you as it seems you only won it to pay for loads of new stuff to make it a half-decent city.

Plus a woman tried to start a fight with me because I smiled

Good one. I'm sure you convinced her not to visit the place.

Liverpool's got a lot of history and the dock area is certainly worth seeing. There isn't much new stuff. They built the Echo Arena and Liverpool One, which is a shopping centre so it hasn't got anything to do with the capital of culture.

What are you talking about? I was just saying I don't like it and Newcastle is loads better.

Liverpool: Come to Sefton Park and see the Palm House and the statues of Peter Pan and Eros. There are also some beautiful listed buildings which have been used in quite a few period dramas and films. Go to the top of the Anglican Cathedral - the view is amazing. The Albert Dock is nice - Tate Modern, shops, cafes, etc, but wrap up because it can get quite windy! Lark Lane - very artsy/bohemian bars, shops and restaurants. The Walker Art Gallery, the World Museum and St. George's Hall are well worth a visit too.

Science Museum: I went to the Lord Of The Rings exhibition there a few years ago and had a great time.

London Dungeon: Expect long queues!

As Fixed just pointed out Liverpool's got a lot to offer. You don't seem to provide any arguments whatsover why you dislike the place. Surely you know that you can't judge a city because you've met one rude person. Sounds to me like you're just being bitter because Newcastle didn't win.

Dirty dirty girl. :shame::lol:

Liverpool is cool and yeah the dock area is great...(Was in Liverpool for a whole amount of...yep, 1 day! Rofl! :P ) That's basically the only place I've seen properly really...I liked that the museum was free, haha. :D

But 3 hours to go there and 3 hours back is a lot when you're only staying 6 days imo...

I only mentioned that as a passing comment, do you think I really care about something like that?

I mentioned the woman because that kind of sums up Liverpool to me

I can't be bothered to go into detail about why I didn't like it but I just didn't

London is a great city, but too damn expensive. I recommend the free walking tour with a guy named Pip  he made the visit of royal stuff a lot more fun and only asked for tips at the end.

The London eye is pretty cool, but make sure the sun is out before you do that. I did it a few years ago and it was very cloudy.. what a waste !

other than that I can't tell you much about non-touristic places.. I've only been to London and Windsor.
